Re: Resurrect Dead Video Cards

Sorry I have not replied sooner. nightmorph - thanks for the tip. I ended up seeing that it was way overpowered. I went with the Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 from Amazon. It also has the HDMI, Monitor, and DVI plugs, and it comes with a HDMI to DVI adapter already so I can hook up my second monitor. It w...

Re: Resurrect Dead Video Cards

Considering this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0030L1BPO/ref=asc_df_B0030L1BPO1451058?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=pg-469-34-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B0030L1BPO It's a bit more than I was hoping to spend, but I cant seem to find a good lower card $50-$100 that has two ...

Re: Resurrect Dead Video Cards

So my card officially died this morning. This time it was an epic fail. The bake method gave me 5 more months out of the card though, which isn't bad! Now I'm left with the issue of finding a new card to replace my current one. I need to replace a 8800GT superclocked. It is a PCI-E x16 slot. I assum...

Resurrect Dead Video Cards

Hello All, Haven't been around in a while but wanted to share a quick tech tip that really helped me out recently. About a week ago my vid card started going on the fritz. My card was out of warranty so I thought all hope was lost... until I read about "baking" up a fix. I'll break it down...

Re: Website Hosting

I did a lot of research a few months back and found this page: http://webhostinggeeks.com/ Based on it I looked for reviews all over the internet. Ended up picking http://www.webhostingpad.com/ and have had no issues. I run three domains from my account, all run WordPress with no issues. I got a spe...

So the admins can insult me but i cant insult they, it's right? Yes, that's exactly right. You are a minnow, they are the trout. You are a penguin, they are the leopard seals. DW admins are the chillest admins I've played with, and some of the coolest gamers out there...

Re: Any DSLR fanatics out there? :)

My department at work owns a Nikon D80 that I use to shoot my students artwork, performances, etc. I absolutely love it, and the picture quality it provides. For me, if we are talking point and shoot compact cameras then I'd say Canon ELPHs. If we are talking full blown DLSR, I'd have to say Nikon b...

Re: How to Spend $200?

Pixie, you are correct. There has not been backwards compatibility or SD card readers since the first and 2nd gen models. All newer version just have the usb slots. However, the usb slots do read card readers or SD card to usb adapters, which I have, so not an issue for me. I also own a PS2, so agai...

Re: How to Spend $200?

the Slims seem more cheaply made than the one I got. What do you think of it so far? Pixie, that's funny because my view is the opposite. For both the PS2 and the PS3 I like the slims better in both design and sturdiness. The original PS2 seemed clunky because of the empty hard drive slot and the p...
