In case you missed it, this weekend on Steam you can buy 10 of the highest rated independent games of 2009 for $30. Of particular interest are AudioSurf, Braid, Darwinia, and World of Goo. Altogether as individual purchases these come out to $120, so a $30 price tag is a steal.

But why spend 30$ on those games, when flash games are free and just as enjoyable?
Its Pronounced Taz-Cross-Blade, not Tazer-Blade, not Taz-Crows-Blade, not Taco-Blade, Taz-Cross-Blade

By the same measure, why spend any money on any games at all when you can have loads of fun using pencil, paper, and imagination?

I think you are probably underrating the quality of these games and/or the amount of time it takes to create something at this level of quality. These guys are lucky to break even (the creators of World of Goo for example, IIRC went bankrupt because their game was pirated so much) on their games, yet these are also the same people that are actually innovating with the videogames medium.

Did you complain about Portal being no better than flash games too?
