I am so sick and tired of listening to 14 year old boys and their squeaky voices during the matches. I know it is always nice to have lots of players, but when those not from the regular crowd come on and tell others to use alt-fire to build a node it really gets on my nerves. I really wish there was an adult only server out there, but this is one of the best that I've played on for the last several months and I appreciate the work that is put into keeping it up and running. I just had to express my anger in words.... Now I must express it in killing those little voices in Onslaught!

I had people on my team today that refused to link nodes, they sat their and looked at the node till it went up, even though i mentioned it several times.

I wasn't talking neccessarily about linking nodes, it was an example. What ticked me off today was the dude in the cicada was telling me to use alt-fire to avoid incoming missles since I was the gunner. Duh....... I was already doing that even before he said anything if he would have payed any attention. This was the second time this has occured with that same guy. I wish I remembered his name, but I don't. Just frustrates me is all.

Heck, I played a game the other day where there were 4 guys trying to link the core. While I appreciate their effort to help out the team, you would think they would read a bit about the game first.

However, I have found that SV is definately one of the better servers out there as far as type of player. I don't know why that is. Probably because Toxic won't put up with crap when he is on.

The only way to work kinks like these out in-game is to use the voice chat. Don't be mean or hostile, but make suggestions and try to draw a consensus regarding a plan. Two days ago I was lucky enough to be on teams that communicated well and we easily dominated six straight games despite having lower scores because we planned and communciated so well. If you can work up a quick outline of attack in those brief seconds before the match starts it puts you at an incredible advantage. But voice chat is also clutch for helping noobs to see the errors of their ways (unless they have voice chat muted or what have you). Sure, people tell me to shut up once in awhile, but I usually put them on mute and block their text because I don't want to hear from those douchebags just as much as they don't want to hear from me.

And as for Bean and his CIcada driver. I understand why you were annoyed about being coached when you already knew what to do, but don't take it so hard. If it was the second time, consider blocking his communication or just flat out tell him to shut the hell up. Sometimes it's hard for a Cicada pilot to hear or see those flares, however, especially in the heat of battle.

Just to stress again: Voice chat is your friend, but if someone is spamming or talking too much, say something and if that doesn't produce results, go to your menu options, Communication, and block him (or her if you're tired of Stormgirl's voice...jk Stormy!! Only Defiant has the legal right to tune you out!)

I do appreciate voice chat to communicate what everyone else is doing, even though I don't use it due to a lack of microphone. My main point is this: I'm sick and tired of those people who are not regulars on this server acting like everyone else is a noob to this game. I myself play almost everyday for a couple hours and have roughly for the last couple years. I know I'm not the greatest, and yeah, I shouldn't take it so hard. I was just frustrated that day with the lack of team effort and the non-building of nodes, etc. that day. Oh well....

Sadly...there'll always be uber noobs and control freaks. Most sadly of all...there will always be some few who aren't new to UT but insist on acting like complete freaking Stupid IDIOTS!!!...ohhh..ermmm...sorry! We all run into those knuckle heads, Bean. Sweaters is spot on...be polite and ask them stop, if they don't just turn 'em off.

(Besides..ya can always switch teams the next game and spawn kill the hell out of them! :gib: :angel12: Very satisfying...uhh..not that I condone spawn killing in any way! Damn horns..that's the second halo I've ruined this week & it's only Wednesday!)

I like voip. It can really help you win when you've got someone whos co-ordinating on your team and it can really crack me up when someone is screaming "nooo noooo! We're loosing!! NOOOOOO!!!!"

Off Topic: I'll get back to playing again soon. I'm afraid I've found Morrowind again and I am having a difficult time putting it down.

Traitor! How could you! ;)

Voice chat is awesome. That's why I enjoyed the scrim so much. Most of the team was on vent and we had a great time talking.
