As many may know, I camp the tower in Tricky. I am not ashamed of camping, because its a strategic position in the map. I use the Paladin This is because of the versatility it has in the tower. it achieves things the bender never could. From the tower not only do you get the redeemer, you can also shoot three nodes both cores and alot of turrets. I always grab the paladin and try to get in the tower because, most of the time no else seems to use it correctly in the tower. The thing is, I do not want to be tied to this duty every game. Many times if I see a vehicle misused on a map I will attempt to take over the duties. Like the Bender in primeval or the SPMA and tank in Dawn.
If you think you know a better tactic on Tricky, fine. This is for people who want to learn a decent tactic. I made a demo:

Defiant wrote:I think your over agressivness is a bit much, plus bringing this tactic here like you are the be all end all of unreal tournament is just overbearing. People play how they want to play, if you want to offer advice kewl. But please stop with the attitude of you know whats best. It's getting old fast.
You know I have told people that are in the pali that they can shoot nodes 4 and 5, with very little risk to themselves, and they dont understand how. This has happened in the past. So I did a demo to demonstrate. This could be you.... then again maybe it's not. I believe some tactics are crucial to winning a map such as the pali in the tower on Tricky, and the bender sending skymines over the center node in primeval, and not driving the bender straight to the middle so its destroyed in 5 seconds. These things make for a more challenging game. By me spreading the word it encourages good team play. If I was elitist I would hold onto my secrets as if they were gold and not share. I play ONS because it is team based, if I wanted a free for all I would play DM or something of the sort. If someone ends up using this tactic I will be the first person in the tower recharging his pali and getting one of the lowest score in the game. You see a tank driving and getting hit guess who you see recharging it...me. This is why I still wear the CLR tag because that server encouraged advice, team play, and no one was elite. If you interpret my advice as elitist than maybe you should be looking at your own insecurities with the game. Because I will tell you what I would have these same discussions on their boards and NONE of these issues came up.

By the way I caught your original post before you edited it. Were you told to change it or was that voluntary?

Keep camping. If you are tired of camping leave the vehicle. Someone will pick it up. Or move it where the action is. Camping is strategy. Hell, I like camping, most of all in a Dreamus map. If someone doesn't know how to use a vehicle I recommend playing single player against bots. Kill or be Killed. It took me a long time to be a pretty good player and like every player we have to go through the learning stages of each map. If you are sick of someone whoring the vehicles camp out and wait for them to spawn.

On another subject, if you don't like spawn killing don't play the game. The point of the game is to pin the other team down so they can't do anything and you can destroy the core. It is a great feeling being able to get a Holy Shit or Wicked Sick on a Dreamus map while in the side turret of a Hellbender. On the other hand it really sucks when a great strategist like ParityGod hammers the hell out of you with SpiderMines.

Learn quick or die.

I went through your demo... actually shooting the right node through the wall is possible because you are exploiting a map bug. This is not fair, on some servers they may even ban you if you do it knowingly.

Good idea taking the paladin up there tho, I tried, failed and didnt attempt it after that. (didnt know the shift jump trick at the time)
