So, I am going to be upgrading to 2GB of ram here asap, and wanted to know if the name brand "G.Skill" is any good. From the info I can gather on their website, it is suppoosed to be an "enthusist" aimed brand, and all the ratings/reviews on newegg are solid, but I am curious to know if anyone knows anything more about them?

The ones I am looking at are 169 on newegg and have a Cas of 2.5 plus a lifetime warranty.

I know I can always return them with the lifetime, but still dont want crap parts.

Thanks.
Cheers, Damnidge

I've had good luck with Transcend brand memory (8-512MB modules).

I like the Corsair memory myself, but there are alot of good brands out there. I am not familiar with the GSkill brand you mentioned however....

Never heard of G.Skill, I would reccomend OCZ, Kingston, or Corsair. Not matter what check the Mobo and Memory websites for compatibility.

My current system runs: OCZ Plat Rev.2 and overclocks well with my DFI LanParty UT nF4 ultra-D

If you are wanting 2gigs from only 2 stick, which would be the way to go for better timings, I would suggest: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820227210

Newegg is the way to go, good luck.

Thanks for the info. I tried to look up info for g.skill, but could not find anything. How did you find out about the crucial parent company thing? Is there a good site to find such info?

The key with me is I am working on a budget. I still have to see my options, and if ram is going to continue to get cheaper, I may wait a bit more.
