Hello i got a big problem.
This week something strange happened to my harddrive.
Suddenly i got a message and an error that the harddrive is maybe destroyed and some of the IDE clusters dont answer anymore.
The result was that all my screenshots, music, .zip and UT files are gone. I tried to recover them back, but no luck :ssad: .
But i saved my latest project (DM-SC-Anniversary-beta2) :swhew: .
Apo

Ok, i reinstalled windows vista again.
The damage of harddrive was to big, utmaps, sounds and textures
+ much space for new map projects
+ saved my current map project (DM-SC-Anniversary-beta2)
- lost all downloaded maps from server (and my maps too)
- screenshots and sound files gone (harddrive was reason for reinstall)
Next time best way would be to save all data to an external harddrive :ssmile:

Wish I seen this thread earlier. It might have been possible to salvage the lost date with a partition recovery program.
What I can do is suggest a couple of safe guards if it happens again. Now from the sound of it, you have everything under one partition. So I do recommend having a second hard drive, or having multiple partition on the one drive, or both. Keep the OS on the main partition drive C. Second partition drive D, install your games along other personal files. So if you ever need to reformat. Only the first partition will be effected.
Also take into consideration of rogue applications, aka malware. These fake programs are very deceiving. All for the purpose of stealing personal information. And a Anti-virus won't always stop them. Reason why I'm bring this up is because the Windows Recovery rogue does something very similar. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-r ... s-recovery
