I just found this out a couple days ago, but apparently it has been in the works for quite some time. Scheduled to be released in Feb. 2013.

Being a fan of the classic AvP games in 1999 and 2001, and how much AVP3 was a let down, I think this one looks pretty good. I didn't like AvP3 due to it being more focused on the Predator, and how the maps and story-line were more based upon the newer AVP movies which suck.
Here's a walkthrough:

Without doing any further research, I think the setting might be just that the "company" sent over another Marine excursion to investigate what happened to the missing team they sent earlier in the movie "Aliens," hence the familiar landscapes and confusion of the Marines at hand as they try to figure out what happened all over again.
You think this might just end up being another disappointment?

I'm kind of skeptical. I'd love to revisit the Aliens setting (or similar), but something about the combat in this video didn't really grab me. The aliens seemed kind of slow I guess, but then that could be for this sort of showcase video.
Yet another reason why I didn't like AVP3. Though, I think the speed element is more important for online gaming against other players. It doesn't seem like its going to be anything like fighting other online player aliens as in the avp games.DW_WailofSuicide wrote: The aliens seemed kind of slow I guess, but then that could be for this sort of showcase video.

I just looked it up. As I suspected, this game is going to be released for consoles, so the slow alien movement is probably an intentional design choice to make things easier when aiming with a joystick.
pfft... Auto-aim would have been fine.DW_WailofSuicide wrote:I just looked it up. As I suspected, this game is going to be released for consoles, so the slow alien movement is probably an intentional design choice to make things easier when aiming with a joystick.

Here we go again:
Alien: Isolation

Even if this one does suck, I still will have to play it purely for nostalgic reasons. I always liked the first film the best, and I love Horror games.
Also, here is one reason out of many why Colonial Marines failed:

Always knew that lighting is very important in film, theater, and games.
