Let's say a company like valve or atari saw monster evolution, and are considering making it into a retail game. Would you be with/against it? Would you think it would be successful?
Personally, I'd only say yes if DW gets a say in how its done.
If monster evolution was to become a full, retail game.
It sounds good, but ultimately we are in no position to decide what should be considered a retail game.
For starters, there's a good handful of content that needs to be created (monsters and map assets for example). Making a full retail game could vary from 250k - multi million dollars (depends on quality and quantity level you seek).
That being said, it'll require a great investment. The targeted audience isn't sufficient enough return the investment. Unless you want to invest more money to make multiple game modes for more demographics. The difficulty (for example) isn't too forgiving to casual gamers.

The difference between successful people from others is
not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.
