I have the newest rev. of the wave notifier up and running.

I will try to get the newest rev. of the dw invasion on the server ASAP. I want to double check it on the test server, and if it goes as planned, I will put on reg. server.

Thanks again for your efforts.

p.s. I was wondering if its possible (no hurry, just something to change things up - we came up with this crazy idea that only you would know if its possible to impliment at all.) If it involves alot of work, then just skip it, as I'm not sure if it would be something we'd want on the server running all the time. Anyhow, heres the idea:

Instead of Luci being controlled by the server (bot), what about the possibility that either a random player, or a high scoring player, or maybe the third highest scoring player is chosen to replace one (or only spawn 1 and make the time shorter based on # players alive) of the "bot" luci's, if that person can stay alive during the whole time, then they would get all the points that the players would have. It would be a great incentive to have the player luci win this way. This would bring about a much higher skill in having to "kill" luci as they wouldn't 'freeze' as easily etc.

Someone said it would be similar to how the 'mutant' version of UT is played.

Anyhow, I just thought I'd hear what you have to say about it. Perhaps its not a good idea. Its something that may be kind of fun to do for 1 weekend a month or something and see from there.

Hmmm. Interesting ideas.

But is the main problem that Luci is 'dumb'? We can always make Luci's controller class more 'intelligent'. He does only use the basic MonsterController supplied by the SkaarjPack, after all. We could, in fact, graft some of the smarts from the Martian/Smith/Grah controllers into a new BossMonsterController that would make our boss monster(s) down-right nasty! :evil4:

Me Likey!!

The problem with Luci right now (IMO), is that he gets stuck/frozen/whatever way too easily. Then when he just ready to die, he starts to bounce around. If he was bouncing the whole time, by actually trying to get away from ammo being sent his way, I think that that would make him somewhat more challenging.

More luci movement only means we need more time to kill them.

Someday, perhaps I will try to look at luci and see whether I can improve him. It is annoying when he freezes up.

Having new creatures is nice, however there are sounds needed for characters such as chuck norris etc.

All on a future to-do list, right now I want to edit maps and use the new capabilities of the invasion wave notifier mutator...

Anyone else wanting to create the creature is fine with me.

I always get this giddy feeling when Snaggle replies to this thread, like I get when new server hardware arrives, or when I get hugs from Hornet.
