Monitoring Temperatures?

- Yeah actually core temp , acording to my past research , is from a 'group' of Overcloking tools like cpuz , clockgen , gcpuid , between others used by hardkore overclokers - And indeed there some outthere that will be way off from an acurate reading and even some wich will not read your sensors at all -

Hey guys, just looking for a good program to monitor temperatures for my cpu and sensors. Looked at some of the programs such as Motherboard monitor. Anybody of any suggestions from their own experience? Thanks.

But before starting, i would check your entire case first. You should at least:

Get a more decent aircooler instead of using the standard one.
Not have ANY dust in your case.
Have a reasonable result in mind where you will stick to.

Also, if your other hardware is slower then your CPU, the overclocking of the CPu itself might not have any improvement.

When you guys mean air cooler do you just mean the fans to exhaust the air out of the case? or you mean the Heatsink?

With the advent of liquid cooling systems, people seperate the two. When you hear someone talking about air they mean heatsink with fan (typically). The other solution is usually some kind of liquid coolers. Then there are the nuts out there pushing 6Ghz with liquid nitrogen.

The stock intel coolers are fine if you are not going to overclock. And a lot of people are getting a decent overclock at alright temps on them for the C2D. But, if you are going to do any extreme overclocking you probably want to get one of the better coolers or liquid systems.

The heatsink. I've posted in my introduction that my system was overclocked too, and yes, i have different heatsinks on both my CPU and graphics card. The one on my CPU is almost 1,5 KG's, 100% copper. The one on my graphics card is nearly 1 KG's and is half Copper, half alluminium. Both are from Zalman, the best brand you can get in aircooling.
