But why not just go ahead and bind your weapons :faroah:
You get so many weapons in onslaught...I guess to me it's very very important to have the right weapon at exactly the right time and it's just too clumsy scrolling around. Some people can do very well with just a few weapons but when I play I go all over the place so I may need LG one second, flak the next, and an avril right after that.
So is messing with your .ini a hack?

You can, but that does slow you down a bit, and you can fumble. I do believe strongly in finding a keyboard config that works; What I don't overly support is scripting INIs, which is what you're doing. I mean, check my post for my key config; I don't do default settings just because I don't like number keys for guns...though I really have to rebind my shock/assault to a better setup, I often fumble for my shock...maybe put that on 7...*in deep kitty-thought* :cat:

3 Rockets fired at once upon switching to that weapon . I did some digging. Found nadda. Its gotta be a UT myth. I have read about people refrencing it . But no in length discussions only speculation . Have you actually seen this. Then there is what hackers like to call "alternative keybinds". Or commonly known as keybind hacks. What a keybind hack is a ini file change that goes outside the scope of the interface. In other words if the interface doesn't allow you to bind a 3 rocket alt fire on a rocket launcher before you even equip it. Then you have to "hack" the ini file to make it do it.
Just because you don't want to explore your .ini file doesn't make it wrong. These files have been apart of gaming now for 10+ years. Binding a weapon to a key is all we are doing. The reason for the .ini and advanced settings is to make the in game setup menu somewhat user friendly. If you were to put all the controls possible in there it would just cause problems for the general user.Because I can just as easily hit 1-0 on the 10 key pad and pull up the exact weapon I want assigned to that specific slot. Which is a default setting.

Whats the point of a one button shot combo. How does it know the distance to the target. Everything that worries you are speed hacks and aim bots.By example above. What I would consider cheating. is setting a keybind up that switches to your shock rifle, fires a shock ball, completes the combo for you, switches to your bio rifle, and shoots that for you, then tosses the weapon because it's empty. With a single press. Now needless to say my example my seem a bit out of line. But it does in fact exsist to do such setups. For me, 1 press, 1 action, 2nd press of same key, alternate weapon/2nd weapon. This is kewl to me. As the person still has to hit the button to switch. It matters not to me that it gives the person an advantage or not. Because that persons advantage is the comfortability they have with thier setup. That is not cheating.
The only binds I know of that I would consider cheat. Will pass secure game I would think . but would not use it myself. Example . A one button combo to allow you to dogde jump a wall.
Everything we are discussing with ini is all pushing a button and getting it to do something the game would already do .
Seeing as how you have 2 people playing why don't you get a INI swap program . Simply click on who is playing and it loads up your settings. You can also have differant .ini files set up for differant game types. DM ONS Assault. Some venues use that pesky translocator. Need a key for that . Have no use for an avril button in dm. Use differant setups. If you are interested I'll dig you up the link. Sort of like programming the seats in your car. Whats good for one may not be good for other.

Now cOme on Zirg. I tried the link it doesn't even work . Give up the real link . :blackeye:
As for the multiple rockets. Could be attributed to Speed Hack . We had a problem with this on another game and I did some research on them some time ago. They can auto adjust and bind keys to adjust the game speed . Thus they want rockets quicker . Turn up the speed. Its all cheating but I don't think it's an .INI hack. I could also be very wrong only speculating.
