I have been wondering whether or not it would make sense to get a better keyboard. Right now I'm just using an E-machines keyboard from a desktop purchase (not my gaming rig).

Are there substantial differences in keyboards in terms of responsiveness? Would it make sense to buy a keyboard that was intended for gaming and would I really feel a difference? I know that some keyboards have special WASD type pads, but I don't need that; I'm just wondering about the responsiveness of the keys in general.

Any suggestions? It seems like they would need to be ordered online since most office stores have mundane keyboards intended for Internet surfing multimedia.

I have a specific choice: mid-deep keys (not laptop style, but neither the thick ones), Volume control, Music controls, tactically responsible key placements, and that's it. Gaming keyboards... if you're better with it, take one, else don't.

(i want a G15 Logitech btw)

the only thing that seperates gameing boards from normal ones is that there are more keys bunched together to get a fuller range of binds.... but ut doesnt have an overwellming amount of controlls so just stick with what u got less it bugs out or u got 600$ to blow away....

Don't waste your money... unless you get an Ergodex.

I accually bought a Z Board from frys and i love it and will never go back to using a normal style keyboard ever again, the number keys are amazingly easy to use and they range from 1-11 and you can push everyone with just a raise of a finger! lol the wasd buttons are in a better place and Q and E are also added for those games that use them. Also it comes with configurations for all the different games, a push to talk button and what not, if you happen to have a fry's around you or just want to check it out if you havent hit up Fry's.com or any of your local computer software stores.

If you do get a new keyboard get a slimline, they make it real easy to slide around on the movement keys. Most professional gameplay broadcasts show the gamers using them (fata1ty, v00 etc)

That being said they suck for typing.
