Good news: I have the files installed on the server.
Bad news: Apparently you cannot run a dedicated server without an ID and password.
Those servers you are seeing are probably hosted from within the game.
I'll keep you all updated, but at this point, we're probably looking at tonight as the earliest I can do it (provided Epic gives us the setup info)

- Zeus, you mean you didn't got in the darkwalker yet? And well, I don't know .. early on there was this TDM server with a very nice ping and there were like 8 guys playing 4 v 4 with no ping problems.. I was there for like 8 mins , but after a while it was taken down - Finally found out where are the actual game inis so I can set my binds.
Nahh.. Only really played vCTF for about 5 mins. Wife is going out of town this weekend, so I know what I am going to be doing for most of the night...
If Toxic can't get the server up and running it looks like KK and Hornet are going to have to host on their FIOS!! Hint hint..

Well toxic it looks like really bad support for windows 2003, that's what were running right?
BTW I'll never understand the lack of changing 3D options on a PC game. Sure it's not needed on a console, but a PC isn't a freaking console. Atleast I fixed the ini files to disable bloom and fog :P

- let me tell you.. the Hell Bender is gonna be one of the most devastating vehicles - Harder to drive but the driver has now the power of skymines oh yeah!! -
On my work machine
Shuttle (dualcore AMD 2.4ghz), Nvidia 7600 GS 256MB, 2 GB ram, 1680X1050 resolution widescreen monitor, WinXP. I got 12 FPS on the map called HeatRay playing instant action. I didn't expect much, and it was playable somewhat, map looked beautiful. I'll post what I got with my home machine later tonight if I get around to it.

A lot of people have been asking about this so I wanted to cover it a bit.
First, get a Gamespy login for your server. To do this just run the game and create logins for them.
Now you can run a dedicated server via the menus by checking the "Dedicated Server" check box, but to run it from the command line use:
UT3Demo.exe server <mapname> -login=<yourdemoslogin> -password=<yourdemospassword> [-port=<nnn>]
Place any game switches (like ?NumPlay=x ,etc) directly after your map name. That should allow you to run a Dedicated Server. Currently, we only support WinXP SP2 and Vista.
There currently isn't a stand alone dedicated server package for the Beta Demo. We do plan on one plus Linux support for the retail game.
