You guys should really check out some of the issues being posted. For instance the UK keyboard default for the @ sign is the console command. So you can't type in an email address!

OMG. Even my kids don't give me this many gray hairs.

Oh well, I will be out of communication for the next several hours. It's time to start the nightly routine.

Let me know if anyone finds any answers. We need 2003 x64 support. Nothing less will do.

Thanks,

That was fast! I should have remembered we're all a bunch of nerds and we've seen that movie 12 times (at least if we are old enough to admin it)

Since I can't seem to find a cookie emoticon, how about this instead? :compress:

Well, this may be a really bad idea, but....

Install the free vmware server on your w2k3 server and then install XPsp2 into it. I am hoping that the dedicated server does not use any graphics...

Since you are running a kentsfield, you should be able to take advantage of the builtin hardware virtualization.

It may be worth a shot.

I have no idea, and apparently Epic has no idea either.

Well, it will probably take a long time. I am assuming you have access to remote access or VNC or something else that will get you on the console?

If you can get XPsp2 into an ISO image and upload it to the server. Then download VMware server. Install it. Boot off of the ISO image in vmware (it can treat it like the cdrom drive). Install XP. Make sure it is SP2. Then install UT3.

Ok, this demo isn't even a beta, it's a flipping alpha. I predict epic will miss the release date at this point.

The lack of support for any of the x64 OSes sounds like a problem with there virtual machine technology. Although I was under the impression wow32 would allow compatibility.

Zues although your VM suggestion is a good one, the main reason behind this test is that we are trying to assess our requirements, VM adds some overhead. Although It may be our only choice till epic gets off their drugs and fixes these issues. Since your the only VM guru I know, and you actively preach it's awesomeness, I elect you head VM douche bag of our community. Now hurry up and explain what needs to be done.

I hate the menu system, like some ppl said in the ut3 forums, its like its made for a console. They should have had a similar way of making adjustments to your game and not to have to go thru countless menus's. I hate it!

Also, did anyone notice that when you are in fullscreen, you cannot hit the windows key and minimize the game? Nor will Alt-Tab work. So if I forget to turn vent on, I now have to exit the game and go thru all those damn menus to exit. Then run vent, then run UT3. Frankly, I'm disappointed in it. If it came out 2 years ago, then fine, but for how long its been delayed, and for what? And this is what we get? Hornet is right about the Alpha part. It doesn't deserve to be called beta. This seems like the 'Vista' of the UT series. Let's hope the real UT3 has some changes...
