SHY, RETIRING Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer isn't known for his backwardness in coming forward. And at analyst group Gartner's conference in Orlando, his enthusiasm for Microsoft in general and Vista in particular rather got the better of him.
On being told by Gartner's Yvonne Genovese, with whom he was sharing the platform, that her daughter had told her all her friends had Vista and that she must have it too, Ballmer ejaculated: "I love your daughter!"
"She's 13," replied Genovese.
