Weapons
Please replace the Mine Layer with the Benelli Shotgun in Monster Mash. The Monsters don't even stand a chance against the Mine Layer. People just set Spider Mines before the wave starts, and all the monsters at the beginnings of the waves die. The Mine Layer also allows people to shoot at monsters from a place where monsters can't shoot them back. Isn't this the same as the problem with glitching? It makes work for the people who are actually playing (as opposed to just spamming mines) very hard, because we can't get kills and keep our Artifacts running. I understand that some people use the Mine Layer as a combat weapon, but I believe this is a sacrifice that we must make to increase the playability of the server. I can score kills perfectly fine with the other weapons (if there aren't thousands of mines already killing stuff.) I'm sure there are some people out there who agree with me...
When submersed in a liquid, creatures with lungs are typically unable to breathe.
I would agree with you, but you are probably fighting a losing battle... :cyclopsani:
What if you're a level 25 medic and are being confronted with wave 12 - 16? Now way you survive, or at least get some EXP, without a minelayer. Expirienced healing doesnt do shit either, so i can't really agree to this. I barely see tons of monsters being wiped out in a split second by a minelayer, you Adren masters can get any oppertunity to get kills.

The Mine Layer's an overpowered weapon, but what are you going to do? It's already in tons of maps, it's in Loaded Weapons. People would revolt if you took it out, possibly even more than if the MP5 were removed.
Those two weapons are staple guns for Invasion, just let it be (and make more flying monsters that Mines aren't effective against ...)

tip for newbie medics never underestimate the mp5 or shock they are 2 of the BEST medic weapons flak is a close 3rd
shock- large explosion and can hit around walls if medic spam compos and don't listen to kami saying it is lagging him i have yet to get lag from shock combos......
mp5- good acu great damage little overpowered but all together great weapon hitscan primary makes good long range attacks rocket launcher tap secondary is good for healing self the triple nade after a well builkt level 35 can hit i titan VERY hard
mine layer shoots far to slow and the limitation of 8 mines makes it a wimpy in my books though damage is off the charts comparatively

darkness is only evil if it choses to be
I'm not an Adrenaline Master, I am a Medic. So it is even harder for me to keep my Adrenaline up when I am trying to kill things. If you want, I can show you how to level up at level 25 without the Mine Layer like I did. If you read the endings of my Medic guide, both of those tests were done with the MP5 only.Chavez wrote:What if you're a level 25 medic and are being confronted with wave 12 - 16? The Mine Layer is there because it is a default weapon in Unreal Tournament. Like the Assault Rifle, except we replaced the Assault Rifle with the MP5.Tazcrosblade_ wrote:and i am not sure that it woul dbe fair......... the mine layer is there for a reason

Erm nope, to be fair its not the bad its got a slow rate of fire and by the time mines get to some monsters they have already killed you, yes they have big power compaired to other weapons but a limited usage.Desko wrote:Please replace the Mine Layer with the Benelli Shotgun in Monster Mash.
Aih PittaH TeH F00l !!!1!11

Are you saying the Mine Layer has limited usage? Because that's just incorrect. With maxed Weapon Speed the Mine Layer fires fast enough to be used as a primary weapon. The Mine Layer is just a powerful weapon which people don't have to aim, or endanger themselves, to use.kaeolian wrote:Erm nope, to be fair its not the bad its got a slow rate of fire and by the time mines get to some monsters they have already killed you, yes they have big power compaired to other weapons but a limited usage.Desko wrote:Please replace the Mine Layer with the Benelli Shotgun in Monster Mash.
I don't know exactly how the mutator works, but doesn't it let you choose which weapon to replace when you're augmenting the server with the Benelli Shotgun? In which case, could you just replace the Mine Layer and it would replace it in all instances? I'm not sure really, but that's what it did with the Assault Rifle and the MP5, but it might work differently because the Assault Rifle is a starting weapon.WailofSuicide wrote:The Mine Layer's an overpowered weapon, but what are you going to do?
