One of my most favorite things about the summer. Well, every other 4 summer is to watch the Olympics. A time when the world comes together as one and shows everyone what's so unique about their culture. I do watch the Olympics for the sports aspect, but I mostly enjoy the opening. Everytime I watch it, I am amazed and captivated by the power and richness of another person's treasured traditions.

But anyways, I have always wanted to know where everyone is from. Haha, always been a lil curious. I figured it would be a great time to learn everyone's nationality, heritage, background, and their favorite sport to watch during the games.

Well, I'll begin. I was born in South Vietnam, and moved to the states at 3. I also have a lil bit of Chinese in me. Sometimes I wish I had more than just 2 nationality, but it's good enough. Well, my favorite sport to watch during the Olypics is Mens Basketball. If you are a fan of the summer olympics basketball, all I can say is Vince Carter Summer Olympics 2000. Holy cow!!!

Nammy nice post!

Have to admit that I am Black American with 1/3 American Indian. Grand fathers mother was 3/4 Cherokee.

Must say I love the water events, as well as gymnastics believe it or not. I also like love the field events when it comes to track and field.

Wow, Nam! Two favorite topics in one post...ancestry and the Olympics!

I am one of a very few of my generation who can claim to have been raised in a log cabin! It was built in 1849...I was built consideralby later! ;) All this in the Hoosier State of Indiana, USA My Mom was a Scot, Clan McPherson! And my dad's ancestors were Welsh, so yea...the heart of a Celt lives on in me!

As for the Olympics...Fencing! Which regrettably doesn't get much TV time! I also love the Equestrian events...women are riding in the Steeplechase for the first time this year! Swimming/Diving and Gymnastics...oh..and for sheer insanity in motion...table tennis! LOL!
Quite looking forward to all the pagentry too!
