Hey guys, figured I'd make up my own thread for this map. Currently going under the name Hall of Heroes, making some good progress, am almost done with the layout of the main base structure seen here -- When I initially started this map I was planning on making it mostly DM style action with vehicle action as a side point. The way things are going it looks like it will be more focused on vehicles than previously thought, but these bases should still provide some interesting on foot action.

The map looks cool. Your screenshots, however, resemble transmission fluid on a driveway. If you can use all them fancy mapper programs I'd bet you can lighten the screens a bit. Making them smaller would encourage more people to look at them, too. :bigsmurf:

I think it's an issue of different gammas -- My screenshots look fine to me, yours looks extremely washed out though.

I have mad respect for you. This map looks really good.

So tell me, how much time and hair pulling does it take to learn through your first map? I have done flash based animation but that's the closest I get to this

There are books on this subject damnidge. Good tutorials and what nots. I don't see how he could give you an answer. What you are dealing with is 3D editing in all sense. Depending on your learning curve I would imagine the first one will take you anywhere from a long time to a very long time . I have done just alittle with 3D rendering and could tell I was going to be there awhile if I comitted. The project went down. Still will tinker now and then . Figure another 10 yrs I should hae it figured out .

Give it a go you have nothing to lose but alittle time . I would research though. I think the DVD Ut2004 comes with tutorial for map making .
