Yea Mobius I saw this about 2 weeks ago and thought it was really bad on Microsofts part. 1st of all anyone who has worked with Vista would know exactly what they were looking at regardless of what Microsoft named it. Most of the people in the video seem to have only heard about Vista so of course they wouldnt know Mojave from Vista or XP. They also don't say what the specs of the laptop are or what is installed on the laptop. If all thats running is Vista with Office and internet access of course its going to run smooth. They never ask the people who may have worked with Vista the type of machines they installed Vista on that made them dislike the OS. Non techie people of course can be fooled very easy and it seems as though these people were. IMO Microsoft really made an arse out of themselves with this experiment.

Funny? Hell yes!!!! If you've been into computers very long and have upgraded your own machines you would have witnessed this type of scene many times over. I'm willing to bet the number is staggering among Mac users who would fall into this experiment. People are amazing in what they will percieve as the truth about computers. Go to Fry's for example in the hardware section that sells things like motherboards and CPUs. I can almost always find you someone who is there with a friend telling them what they need or should buy. Enter the Fry's salesman and I promise it's sure to turn into a "comedy" very quickly.

How about those Apple ads with the "mac guy" and the "pc guy"? Do you know anyone like the Mac guy? I do. Does it make you mad how misleading and incorrect those ads are? Apple is preying on the very perceived knowledge that this project is trying to explain. Ofcourse I understand that Microsoft would choose only people that have no prior first hand knowledge of Vista. I think we call this marketing. I can tell you stories about this subject for hours because I deal with it at work constantly. What is even better is when you can make Vista look and act like XP or make XP look and act like Vista. It really isn't as big a deal as you might think.

One question: Do you think Microsoft and Apple are targeting 5-10% of the world or are they looking for the 90-95% of the world?

5% being the Techies
90% being the non-Techies
5% variance being those of us who think they're techies.

I thought that the point WAS in fact to interview people who've never seen Vista, but had heard about it by word of mouth, simply to prove the point that Vista is at least a little misunderstood. (Not that I'm endorsing Vista but, I will say that I've had MANY more general usage errors with XP than Vista, BSOD's, freezing, crashing.... etc.)

I would actually go as far as saying that I prefer Vista over XP. My Dad even has a build very similar to my computer, running the same Processor, Ram, Mobo, background processes... etc. Which uses XP and runs significantly slower, but that's not exactly a "fair" comparison.
