1st of all my weapons are binded to keys so accessing them is easy. Yes the Flak and Grenade are on the same key and the BIO and Mine layer are also on the same key. But its easy to hit the key then \ to toss the weapon regardless of how many times I accidently pick them up.

I always use the following weapons

INF or NRG Link
NRG Flak
INF or Null MP5
NRG Rocket launcher
Vamp Shock
NRG Mine
and
Sometimes I use the ripper

I never use the Sniper, Lightning, Bio or Grenade launcher but of course when I toss them and need a quick ammo pickup from a weapons locker or get thrown into one by a seeker I get them back but a quick press of the binded key and \ and there gone. I would think that locking weapons in some way would not be an easy task but then again maybe it would be. As for me it's not an issue or problem that bothers me at all. Just my opinion though and others may feel the same as you and maybe it would be an easy thing to do. As far as adding new weapons throw out some ideas. I can't think of anything that would enable me to do more damage than I already do but then again if something new appeared maybe I would like it. All I can say is throw out some ideas and see what others think.

One thing that I would like to point out is that the inf Bio is actually a lot more powerful than people might think. On later waves, when there are a lot of monsters (And thus a relatively big target), it can do craploads of damage.

However, I mostly use null mp5, link (occasionally), mines, and flak.

Well, me being a Healer- I use the Link gun or Flak most often... recently, I've been using the Flak more because it can heal me at the same time. I never use the bio cannon because it takes to long to load (even on 105 or 100+) and I won't use the sniper or lightning gun because they also take WAY to long to fire, and people would be dead WAY before I had a good chance to heal them. I rarely use the shock rifle, because it can take up a lot of people's POV- and the mp5 I don't use very often (although I should...)

If any weapons should be locked out or just excluded, I think the bio rifle *reason= if not a healer, can kill partner players on accident..* and the sniper rifle *reason= slow rate of fire...*

just my 2 cents..

I'm always reminding myself be careful what you ask for around here. Hell I'm even thinking be careful how you respond here but here goes, again....

There seems to be alot of suggestions going on around here with a common theme. "Can you just flip a switch and do this?" I'd like to take a moment and thank DW as a whole for all the time and energy spent in making all their servers what they are now. I don't have a clue how many hours have been spent on the Invasion server alone. I do know it's a great deal more than most and the quality of time shows. Giving you a choice of weapons or even just taking them away has been talked about here for over a year now that I've been here. Unless there has been a major change in the answer.....

How about more maps with bio, lightning gun, rockets that don't include shock, flak, etc. You have to play with what you got.

Sounds like a good idea to me! We can even put in custom volumes to remove those weapons from Weapon Masters.

Hehe, we should limit some weapons...Diversifying weapons will force players to use unique weapons (good for a challenge) & they can experience the benifits of the bio rifle, vorp sniper rifle, or whatever unused weapon.

Wail, whenever you come up with that volume, send it to me plz. I'm going to use it ...... alot :evil2:

I actually don't really approve of removing weapons from people, I was just joking about it.

I can see it potentially being valid in rare circumstances, but only when used sparingly, since doing so would be removing one of the advantages of the Weapons Master. A lot of maps are already pretty cheesy in that they give out all the weapons in one locker anyway.

I must say "boo" to this idea. I too have a standard set of weapons I usually go for, but one of the most appealing aspects of the game to me is the wide variety of weapons and magic properties that can be applied in different ways to different situations. I can have a great time on a map that I dislike if I can find some entertaining weapon combo. I'm still very disappointed by the removal of the Weapons of Power (I believe they're called), the Firechucker, steorra, CFX, PepperPot, etc.. I understand there are technical reasons for that particular decision, it's just disappointing from a player's perspective and I'd hate to go any further down that road.

I especially like weapons and objects that are map-specific and not univerally available... it adds more flavor and variety to the map rotation. The EONS Grenade Launcher is a new fave of mine... as are maps with the Super Damage Adrenaline Rush. Fun stuff.
