I bring Christmas cheer. I got a 500GB External HD this Christmas, which means that I'll finally have enough room to install UT2004 and CoD4 again, which means that you guys get to have Desko back. Merry Christmas!

I'm not sure that's a gift. More like coal in the stocking.

Also, you really don't want to run apps from an external drive. Why not get another internal one and use your new external for ghost images/back-up etc.?

Thanks, Damnidge. Merry Christmas to you too.

Edit: It seems to run fine. I'm trying to remember, did I leave on bad terms with you, or did you always mess with me?

Yes Merry Christmas to those who partake .

He's not messing with you Desko , externals drives will transfer data slower then a internal drive generally . Thus creating a bottle neck .

As Bomzin said the external drive can cause bottlenecks and are just not favorable to run your operating system from. Not only that, but internal drives are generally cheaper for the same amount of storage space as an external counterpart would be from reputable vendors. For example, a Western Digital 500GB drive ATA100 is 69.99 with free shipping from newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822136111). If you have SATA, which would be better, the SATA 3.0 500GB drives run about 59-64 each and also have 16-32 mb cache instead of the 8 the IDE has. There are some samsung and hitachi for cheaper, but I would NOT recommend either of those brands. Yes you can get 500GB external drives for 60 bucks, but I sure as hell would not trust that my data would last on there.

Good luck.

Huh, I didn't even notice that you didn't have the tags. What happened?

Hornet tried to assault me with a twinkie and I got that "wet sock in your stomach" feeling they taught us about in grade school.
