I've only been playing MM for a week or two but I have already gotten my WM up to almost 60.
I have a few suggestions of things do add or change that might make things more fun.
1) Recall
Allow WM level 2 of the ability. Being able to spawn with all magic weapons is great, but sometimes you want to keep more than 1 weapon. And sometimes you get that dang titan rock thru the window when you are trans-ing to safety.
Allow Medic level 1 of the ability. Most times they will have their Medic wep out but if they have a vorpal weapon or something, a weapon which is important enough to them to stop healing, they should be able to keep it.
1a) Recall (alternate)
Make recall "save" the weapon you had out previously if you are on the Translocator. I.E. on my WM I have a vorpal shock +10, and I am trans'ing to a high tower to start sniping. If/When that stray titan rock flies thru the air and smacks me, I should be able to keep my vorpal shock +10 instead of getting to "keep" my Trans.

2) Do something with the servers
Lots of people have been playing on MM servers for a long, long time. And they have several characters over level 100 or even over 200. However, for people who are starting off, this can be a nuisance. I am currently restricted to server 2 because the Chicago server was full for quite some time, and now my WM on Chicago is in the 30's whereas my WM on Server 2 is in the 60's. To me, going back in time is no longer any fun because it is the same exact character.
If the two servers merged, it would make starting players much more able to level up and gain experience. Many times Server 2 is full and Chicago is not, or vice verse. However if the two servers shared the data file, one player could hop between servers depending on which one had slots available at the current time.
There would arise issues with people who have played both servers. For levels 30 and below, the characters could simply "disappear", with the higher level one taking precedence. For levels 30 and above, however, I believe the two characters could be "merged" at the owner's discretion. I say 30 because many people would start a character, play it for a few levels, then decide they do not like it and simply restart with a different name instead of using the Reset button. This would help get rid of the "extra" characters taking up space.
EXAMPLE : I have a level 100 on Server 1, and a level 120 on Server 2. (I wish.) If/When the servers are merged, an Admin would contact me and ask me which character I wanted to keep. I decide to keep my level 120, and so the experience from my level 100 which has been accumulated would be added to my 120. Because of the way the level experience requirements progress, this would add up to very little progress in the long run, while allowing me to benefit from the time I have invested on both characters.
2a) Make two servers. Have them both use the same log files as above. But this time, split them. Make one server that is hard, and goes up to "omgwtfnowai".. and another server which would be used from say levels 25-100. So the lowbie server would be like, 20 waves of the difficulty of current 1-10, and the high one would be 16-20 waves of the current 11-15 waves.
A few suggestions to make things more fun!

The sniper rifle is supposed to be one step up from the lightning gun. They both have a scope, but Sniper rifle attacks faster and so does more damage. (It might have a higher base dmg too, I don't know where to find that out). It is also an onslaught weapon, so it takes a little bit of work for WM to spawn with it.
However with the puff of smoke whenever I get a Vorpal Snipe +10 I never use it!!! The puff of smoke might be meant to make it more "even", but it makes it a completely useless weapon.
Please remove the smoke so that Sniper Rifle is once again useful.
4) Change ghost back the way it "was"
I am still a low level but many people have talked about Ghost and how there used to be a delay. I think that Ghost should, instead of instantly respawning you, make you a spectator but give you the option to respawn like other UT2k4 gametypes.
This would allow people time to recoup theirselves and to prepare better instead of just being dumped in teh action again instantly.
5) Adjust Queens!!!
Yes. We know them. We hate them. We fear them.
But in wave 6, Queens are completely devastating. Queens are the "omg run" monsters.
Adjust their fire rate so that other classes instead of just AM have a chance of surviving them. Improve damage, sure. But make it so that vamp and medic abilities can help a 60+ survive in wave 6
5) Fix MP5
As a WM with level 5 loaded weapons, if I save an MP5, I do not get another one. And if I kill myself or something with an MP5, a NORMAL ONE spawns in its place.
6) Change Flight weapons!!!
Flight weapons are both a blessing and a curse. They can help you reach that secret room super easy..
But they also get you killed.
Make flight weapons so that they do not impair movement so much. Jump for up, crouch for down.. like piloting an aircraft. You could have the Airmaster skill affect how you move in the air. Just make it so when you are aiming with a flight weapon you dont accidentally drift out somewhere and not notice it cause you are scoped.

Recall has been discussed for years. I doubt it will be changed.
I'm sure the servers will remain separate due to performance issues (a 40 person RPG server ain't gonna fly). You could get yourself a reserved slot if getting on a server is a problem. See:

I mean putting the CHARACTER LOG FILES together.
I.E.
I can play ONE CHAR on BOTH SERVS without having to level him once on one serv and another on the second serv.
A 40 person RPG server would be crazy. All the high levels would level up and the n00bs would never get a kill.

Ah, I see.
I don't see how this would be possible though. I don't think the 2 servers could log to the same file (i.e. "the file you are requesting is already in use by another program"), and I don't see Wraith constantly synchronizing them.

I haven't witnessed it myself, but I've heard that for UT3 a guy named BattleMode put together an SQL system to synchronize character configuration files between multiple servers. I don't even know whether that is possible in 2k4, although I assume it is. The question is whether anyone has the type of database and networking knowledge to make that happen.

I agree. I think the smoke puff was introduced in 2k4 to make the sniper rifle harder in player versus player games. However for Invasion it would be nice not to have the puff.3) Remove the puff of smoke from the sniper rifle!!!!

No. Each level of each skill is set to help make the different types more equal in ability. A medic should not be running around with a vorpral shock because they have no recall, so they won't kill much ne way. Medics are meant to stay at home and heal the men. A wep master is powerful enough with it's adv damage bonus. It doesn't need more weapons to over power it.
2) Sounds to me like it would cause way to many problems.
