Yes. Also if they were to kill them self with a demer or ion they could easily break your trans. I think that anytime a player dies by self inflicted damage that final projectile/explosion that killed them becomes damaging to anything/anyone (friendly or not).PeeWee wrote:Is this true?Jons Return wrote:I will! There are only 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who read binary, and everyone else.
4013 is only a FAD
And 2989? Well that's just BAD

100% correct, I've killed people with the Ripper before.. I accidentally killed myself with one of those blades and with primary fire there was still a lot of them bouncing around the map off the walls, but the most you'll see team kills happen with is supers ^^DW_BrainPan wrote:I think that anytime a player dies by self inflicted damage that final projectile/explosion that killed them becomes damaging to anything/anyone (friendly or not).
I've been taking a look at the translocator code and managed to change it so you could trans when your own team was standing on it, but then you just end up telefragging them and I'm not sure how to fix that. As for players and transes get killed/destroyed by deemers etc., I think that's a flaw in the core UT2004 coding rather than anything else.

sounds like a good fix to the problem lol, if people have a chance of dying by standing on your trans then they would think twice about where they stand :P unfortunately not.. it would probably encourage team kills.. what would be awesome is if someone could write a mutator that when you teleport back to it if someone is standing on it, they would be teleported to where you were in the map and then... well, you get the picture. lol40 Shards wrote:I've been taking a look at the translocator code and managed to change it so you could trans when your own team was standing on it, but then you just end up telefragging them and I'm not sure how to fix that.

lmao that wouzld be so awesome.
But i dont know if this is possible :o
Eh, I still think people will find creative ways to get vengeance.
I'm just going to throw an example. A glober outside the safe spot of Bud & then he sees a person camping behind the wooden barricade. Remember what that player did....ummmm...Didn't want to give him a mine layer, the glober will teleport him outside the barricade to get his mine layer or to get even.
Now this really can't be a bannable offense because it's difficult to tell whether he did it on purpose or not (of course the glober will say it's an accident).
Always keep in mind that not all players are like us. There are many people that will always try to find ways to abuse the system for their own gain.

not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.

Anything that's going to penalize other players for standing on your trans... Is just going to result in people leaving their trans in highly populated areas and trying to grief other players.
Also, TBH, your trans is like a free escape from any DPS situation. I'm not sure it's even desirable to make it any easier for people to use.

Lol.. I was being sarcastic :P of course there are people who would abuse something like this but it would be funny.. ^^ anyway I never use the trans so the whole "who stood on my trans" thing isn't something I would know about, if I need to escape I might try but I never leave it lying around waiting to teleport me to safety.. but I always do check to see where I'm standing if I'm in a safe area.
