I've been screaming at my PC for the last half-hour trying to run crysis at half its recommended CPU spec, and I will try overclocking at some point, but for the mo I can't do that. I'm on lowest graphics for EVERYTHING and it looks TERRIBLE but still it is unplayable due to the lag. I'm sure it's the CPU and ask desperately, is there anything I can do with a budget of £0.00 to make it work?

I have a 2.66 e6750 with 4GB performance ram and a 8800gt and I have to put all my setting to one notch under the top marks. The game is a beast man.

Are you trying to play original Crysis, or Crysis Wars/Warhead? I ask only because I own all 3 and all I really play anymore is Crysis Wars - the multiplayer game that comes with Warhead. They made improvments that make it run much more smoothly than Crysis does on my same machine.

Long story short, you need a new machine man, sorry to break it to you. They put those specs on there for a reason. Crysis is not a game you can play and have fun on low like moh or ut. It's made to look good!

Unfortunately some games are designed to push your system to the max and what you have just won’t get it done. Overclocking is an option but unless your comfortable doing this I wouldn’t give it a try. Not to mention with a budget of zero if you cook what you have then you’ll be left with nothing.

well I have here a sheet which boaasts about the E2160's low-heat performance hitting 3ghz for a short time with no extra cooling... reckon I can make 2.5? I have a standard (large but I dunno exact size) foxconn heatsink and fan. The only problem may be getting the heat outta the PC because I don't have a case fan... and I spent the rest of my Xmas money on that game :'(

:drunken: Go down to the local thrift store . Buy a Bid room fan . Remove the side cover of the case . Set fan in opening . Case fan for under 5$ . If you already have a fan laying around the house your there . Save your money for a new cpu cooler

OC away . Just test as you go keeping an eye on the heat . Never know until you try .

yeah hrmmm my dad may still have his old case fan...

there isn't a single thrift store in any place I've been to in wales ^_^ no dont blame you for not knowing where I live. (If you did I'd be scared or wonder why you bothered to look at my boring profile xD) but nvm, I'm trying... thanks for the help.

I already got SpeedFan and it's okay but I have no idea what monitor 1 2 and 3 are because they aren't named. I assume the one that is always over 40 C is chipset or something like that.
