although that provider sounds a helluva lot like talktalk. The line is ALWAYS unreliable and the Indian in their call centre (excuse tiny racism) doesn't have a clue what is wrong. :angryfire:

If it is talktalk, and you're on contract, god bless your gaming soul.

Ok guys, this will be turned into a slightly more hardware related thing. Anyway, today I went to our router and apparently there has been a D-Link DHP-300 plugged in it for 5 months now. My mom told me that my brother bought it so that it would enhance the internet. Both me and my mom don't know whether that is for the whole house or just for him.

I have had the feeling over the past few months that the connection was getting weaker at my pc, but if I'll ask him whether the thing does this, he will say whether it is or not, that it doesn't. FYI, he's a soulless wow player who is willing to sit 16 hours a day behind his pc when he has no school going on and he often comes into my room all paranoid asking me whether I'm downloading or streaming because he is lagging.

Anyway, could someone tell him me if my suspicions are right? If it is true, then he has no right to draw more connection to himself and if it's not then well... nothing I guess.

Games don't really use much bandwidth esp mmporg games like his. So there should not be a problem. Do some download test and see what you dl speed is at. If you think that xtra router is a problem unplug it and retest. Routers go bad it happens. I have D-link stuff and had good luck with it but the Chinese made stuff is junk and there tec support is too. You can also look through the router page and see if your being attack from some ISP too.

mmm my router went bad, and coupled with my ^talktalk^ connection it was unbearably laggy. When we changed to BT we got rid of the indian callcentre and the crappy router...
