Yea. dry leathery flesh sounds right. Multifaceted eyes, I like that. When he goes to inhale to breath fire, the two veined lumps on the back of his head is going to expand like balloons. I was thinking about having it become slightly transparent as it stretches out revealing rolling flames below and lava like blood pulsing though the major veins in the area. Almost like he has lungs where his brains are suppose to be. I was going to give him animations that show his stupidity like when no one is around, you can spectate him and watch him do stupid things like scratch his head and pick his noes, stare at his boogers and precede to eat them. He will snarl, throw punches in melee, and of coarse belch fire. I want to add something though. I always thought it was strange that when they died they just flopped over dead. I always thought they should explode. The fire animations in UT3 are awesome too so I wanted to take advantage of that. These are all ideas and I am open to suggestions. Nothing set in stone yet.

Thank you Rocket! I'm quite proud of the way things turned out on the second model. I decided to finish up all the sculpting of the head and arms before doing the low poly and normal bake. Now that all the sculpting is done, I started the topology of the low poly model. Here is a picture for those interested. Retopo is the hardest most tedious and time consuming part of the whole process in my opinion. This stage may take a while.
It is coming along slowly but surely. I threw a sub-surf modifier on it to give it a bit more detail. I used Catmull-Clark sub-surf for a more organic look. This will increase the polygon count but it shouldn't be too much... I hope. Compare it to the last pic.

Wow, nice work there :cyclopsani:
I pretty much agree with Karma on what it should look like, but will you be keeping the same basic attacks as the original gasbag or modifying them a little? If you wanted to do versions with different attacks then some kind of stone/gravelly gasbag might be cool.

Gas Bag that spit out Titan Rocks? :X That'd be awesome. :) You know what else would be cool, is like a rare-spawn type of monster that has the same model but substantially higher AI/Stats/Unique Attacks or something to that degree that might grant better XP/drops. :P I can't wait to try out the UT3 server, finally a reason to reinstall UT3!! :D You guys are awesome. <3

I'm super stoked that you all like it, it has been a rough ride. Blender although an excellent collection of tools can be a bit buggy at times but that will all be over on the release of 2.5 which will contain a complete over haul of the low level code. I can't wait! I have been having real diffaculty with the retopo tool and have been getting awfully frustated but your input gives me the second wind I need to continue and I appreciate it. Thanks! I also have a few other things in the works so be patient. I'll keep you posted here.
