Tombstone Epitaphs '09

The more we count our years, the faster we seem to count. Every passing year it seems to grow shorter in length of time. I address this because before you know it, Halloween will be around the corner. Before it gets to late, I’d wish to make this post to provide you some time to develop some creative epitaphs.

Just like last year, I’m encouraging everyone to create their own epitaphs for their tombstone for the upcoming Halloween season. These tombstones will be position in a selected collection of maps that'll be modified for the Halloween week for Monster Mash. Last year we had several creative fellows, and several of us are anxious to see what you come up this year! I recommend checking out DM-HoldtheCrypt. That is the only map that has all of the tombstones from last year, and if you looking for examples, that'll be the place to visit.

Not much work is needed. All you have to do is to make a post here or send me by pm of your tombstone’s epitaph. I’ll simply copy in paste the text so be sure you get the exact grammar and spelling you want it to be on your stone, and if you have any font specifications (size, font type, color, bold, italics, etc…) be sure to let me know so I may include that on your tomb.

Other requests are welcomed, too. Last year someone wanted to have two tombstones, one saying “I’m with stupid --->” the other one saying his name.
If you have a boy/girlfriend you wish to include, feel free to create another for him or her. If you wish, we can even position your graves next to each other. Other requests are welcomed!

If you have a tombstone last year, don’t be discouraged. You are still welcomed to create another one!

We don’t want to end up with multiple tombstone texture packages; I’m going to be a bit harsher on the deadline this year. The final deadline for your submission will be October 17 at 11:00 pm EST. That’ll provide us a week to wrap up the texture package, place the tombstones, finish the map(s), testing the map(s), and submitting it to the servers for the Halloween week.

Try not to procrastinate because time is flying, and it will not slow for dragging feet.

You may want to look into how the Hellbender dynamically creates the license plate text (or maybe I will). It's really inefficient to have a bunch of textures just to put some text on a gravestone. I could understand if there were a particular font or something that needed to be used for graphical effect, but that's not the case.

That sounds like alotta work simply to save some downloading time, but if you really want to do this, I won't stop ya.

Can we add two?

If you have multiple alias, you are welcomed to create a tombstone for each alias. If you simply want two, I don't see why not. Just try not to build the entire cemetery for yourself lol.

errr....that's a bit excessive. Lets try to limit to three tombstones. Each tombstone requires a new 512X512 texture. To prevent a lengthy download, we should limit at most three tombs per player ;)
