Well actually I've pretty much finished modeling and I had just finished putting a really basic skeleton on the model just to test it out, but I would rather just use the default UT2k4 skeleton so I can just paste the animations onto my character...I'd rather not have to do a crap load of animations but if I can't figure out where to get the default skeleton I guess I'll have to.
so, does anyone know where I can find that skeleton? I actually have the Mastering Unreal Technology book but I got it without the CD (i think...or maybe i misplaced it) and the tutorial in the book said that they have the default skeleton on the CD so maybe someone can send me the file if they have the cd.
Trying to create a character.

Are you looking for the file Epic_Skeleton.mb or something else? I can send it to you. PM me with an email addy.

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who read binary, and everyone else.
4013 is only a FAD
And 2989? Well that's just BAD

if you dont want to do any animations and the character you modeled fits the default, just use the default. What modeling software are you using because a lot will depend on that? Is mb a maya format?

yep i got it. i ended up doing a completely new rig which is more flexible than the default but i used the default cause i didn't feel like doing custom animations or painting weights and such cause rigging is my least favorite thing to do. anyway, thanks. i got the character rigged and in the game.

Awesome! Rigging isn't so bad once you come to understand child parent relationships and once you do, constraints are easy to understand. Making you own rig allows for better movement and detail although UT doesn't seem to understand some constraints and bone size... ?

yesch, but i have no desire to rig anything buahaha. anyway, here's the character. it was put to the male animations and it also has a man voice but i guess i'll mess with that later if i feel like it. there's something not quite right with the painted weights so it's not perfect but oh well. good enough for me.
