Would everyone rather I put a page up on FileFront again or simply have all the rooms emailed to me?
Can we push it back to the week after Halloween? There are several other projects that I must tackle for Halloween, but once that season's over, then I'll work on this one since this isn't specific to a holiday.

Are you asking that once we finished a room, we send you a copy so you may get an idea how it's done?

Sure, hoping to do a couple of things myself. I have no idea how complicated one will be either :cheese:

exactly.
It's not very complicated, pretty much a small map which can be joined to others easily. As long as that mapper's fine with you taking a preview of it then yeah.
Before time drifts too far, I think we need to establish our theme for the project.
Wail, Brain, and I are thinking of some building (base) on top of some landscape. Wail may build is cavern theme under the base, while the building, itself, holds many rooms. Based on this idea, I picture one of UT99 classic DM maps:
DM-Barricade
It's simple, isolate this building on some floating island. Someone may build the exterior, Wail works on the caverns, while the rest fills the interior of the base.
Should we do this concept/theme??
Also:
I think I may have discouraged Savage when we mentioned the limitations of the warp zones.

Sounds fine to me. I am not sure how much time I will have to work on this, but I've got a general idea of something I could do here.
The main thing is I plan on working this mostly in 3DSMax so I would prefer to have a basic layout that I can hook into before I go making anything definite. The obvious thing is to say a 512x512 pit somewhere that you can jump down / ride something down, but I kind of feel like there ought to be more than one entrance (maybe 3?). Though I could probably build 3 different mini-caves and then later build some connecting tunnel sections I suppose.

Guess I missed this... Sounds interesting, it certainly leaves things open for varying themes inside the castle. I could probably do the castle exterior, but I haven't used terrain enough yet to do the island's terrain itself. If everybody's happy with it I'd certainly go along with it.
I have my hands full with my Halloween map but now that I've established I'm making one combined map rather than two I'm hoping the majority of it'll be over by Sunday. Not much point submitting later than then anyway. After that there's nothing particular I need to work on so I should be able to focus on this project.
hmmm I don't have a volunteer wanting to have their room modified.
I'll go with plan B. Shards, if you're working on the exterior, I'll work on the interior (misc rooms). If you already have an idea what goes inside, you may combine the rooms you see fit, and place a real basic layout in what you had in mind inside. I can simply decorate it :)
Just send me your castle whenever you want me to modify it.

Greetings, is the project kaput? Right now I am struggling with my broken down Dell PC but I hope to replace it within a few days, so I could rejoin the effort.
I was just thinking about this the other day - Not sure what the status is. I'm going to try and look into modelling some caves this weekend if time allows.
I've started working on my part, even if it is a little later than I wanted to. I imagine Ant's waiting for mine so he can work on the interior. Don't know the status with BP and Savage.
I've come up with a theme based on Ant's but a little more overarching. I've been playing through the original Unreal recently, which obviously includes the original floating island, Na Pali Haven. I thought we could give this project a similar feeling - the top of the island has a castle and surrounding buildings with ancient architecture similar to the Nali's in U1 (Nali Castle/Harobed Village especially), whilst the interior of the island has a far more futuristic feeling with a similar design to the Skaarj bases (ISV-Kran/Mothership/Outpost 3J etc.), creating a similar feeling to Na Pali Haven & Outpost 3J. In short the top of the island would have ancient architecture and the interior would have a sci-fi architecture. If there's anyone who hasn't played through/can't remember those parts of Unreal I would suggest trying out the Unreal 1 to Ut2k4 mod (when UTZone comes back online).
