I've had multiple problems with these monsters from dying from invisible rocks, and being dragged into the "Unknown" of a map to kill me.
Seems the titans keep bugging and throwing rocks with no texture, hence being invisible. Maybe should just settle for the old 1 texture only titans they have never been bugged as far as i see.
And the seekers can use their tractor beam through walls which will then drag you Inside that wall, and because theres no map there, it kills you.. either fix the tractor or remove it, or remove the seekers altogether? tho i would personally not like to remove seekers, but this bug seriously get annoying.
Some monsters in the server NEED removing or fixing.

Yes we are working one it. Next big plan would be to remove the Tony Monster Pack and to add the "good old" stuff plus some new foes.
Don't worry, work is in progress.
Oh and no... we won't removed the seekers, throwing you out of the map is a special clause in their contracts... live (or die) with it LOL.

I got the reflex of the fly, now catch me if you can!
There is already a default texture for the rocks, and they are used. You may notice this when titans are throwing normal rocks that has the same texture on the floor they're on, but then when they get to the edge where the titan is not over the floor, they'll begin to throw rocks that are out of place. Those brown and green rocks are the default ones.Renegade_masta wrote:Seems the titans keep bugging and throwing rocks with no texture, hence being invisible. In other words, if no texture is found, then default textures are used.
The invisible rocks that kills you are the broken bits that catch you.

Yes, rocks do have a default texture. I guess it's possible that rocks are not getting the skin replicated properly (dropped packets and/or just not replicating the info in a timely enough manner), but it's more likely that it's just standard rock behavior. Getting killed by invisible rocks has been around since Titankind was created.
I just thought of something based on Ren's point though, seekers throwing you off the map is all very well. But should they really be able to drag you into walls and floors and ceilings, giving you suicide and thus losing recall on any guns you have? when I used to play AM it was a mood killer for me, getting suicide by seeker.
I'm pretty glad the Tony Monsters will be going, the old school ones were awesome but these ones are a bit... annoying. The queens especially.

Out of the years I've been playing Monster Mash, I never seen any seeker throw me or any other player through BSP, terrain, static meshes, or even movers.Jon! wrote:But should they really be able to drag you into walls and floors and ceilings, giving you suicide and thus losing recall on any guns you have? when I used to play AM it was a mood killer for me, getting suicide by seeker.
The times when recall fails is when the player hits the Zkill or when the monsters managed to kill your ghost. Big difference between being killed when seeker pulls you into Zkill or into a pit of many raptors than seeker throws the player through the map.

Been through walls quite a few times because of seekers - don't know if they'er static or not but in the same way some rocks come through a wall :)DW_Ant wrote: Out of the years I've been playing Monster Mash, I never seen any seeker throw me or any other player through BSP, terrain, static meshes, or even movers.
I'm seeing this happen more and more. Seekers beams come through the walls and pull you through. Rocks hit a wall a certain way and clip through it, same with luci blasts. And one random thing earlier where I got hit by a slith and thrown through a wall. First I have never been knocked back by a slith but through a wall as well was rather annoying ... especially as I died from being in the wall before luci had even spawned. This server needs a little TLC, as more and more bugs are forming over the past month. I wouldn'y disagree to it being taken down for a day or two to have a nice clean up and rest.Aravona wrote:Been through walls quite a few times because of seekers - don't know if they'er static or not but in the same way some rocks come through a wall :)DW_Ant wrote: Out of the years I've been playing Monster Mash, I never seen any seeker throw me or any other player through BSP, terrain, static meshes, or even movers.
To bring about the end you have to start at the beginning.

You know what realy freaks me out! The incredible amount of lag right after wave 13. This make wave 14, 15 and 16 almost unplayable. I Blame the damn PB&J Titans! Can't wait till they are gone, same for all Tony's Monsters.

Well ... Just because you see the beam go through the wall doesn't really mean the seeker is shooting through the wall. Same with a rock mesh.
Agreed Ant, I have never seen a seeker pull a player through BSP or terrain. Although they have been known to pull you so hard that you crater when you hit the ground, that's entirely different from being pulled "through" a wall. Even on maps which have 1uu thick walls, I just can not recall ever seeing that, with either Seeker pulls or Titan Rocks or Luci fireballs or Slith ultimas. Movers are definitely glitchy, and on Freon I've had more than my fair share of falling through elevators or shooting and blowing myself up on an elevator that was 20ft below me, but even on maps like TheEnd, getting pulled through the tiny window movers, or having stuff come through the movers just never happened either.DW_Ant wrote:Out of the years I've been playing Monster Mash, I never seen any seeker throw me or any other player through BSP, terrain, static meshes, or even movers.Jon! wrote:But should they really be able to drag you into walls and floors and ceilings, giving you suicide and thus losing recall on any guns you have? when I used to play AM it was a mood killer for me, getting suicide by seeker.
I don't want to be too dismissive here but the reality is that bugs don't just crop up out of nowhere, and since there haven't been any changes to any of these monsters it seems pretty unlikely the issues are anything more than selective memory and / or connection issues.
