I need help with maps

I am trying to make a basic base to base map, and can't figure out what to do next.
I think that the best way to do this, is by making an assault type map, but I have some questions.

Is it possible to make both teams attack at the same time?
In other words, can the defence team also attack?

My goal is to make maps which will be Command & Conquer themed, and the objective is whichever team destroys the enemy's base first, wins the round.

Now I know you guys don't have an assault server, but I really need your help.
I read Rachel's tutorials to make an assault map, however she doesn't explain how to do this kind of thing...

Details:
Blue Team Vs Red Team.
Vehicles available from the start.
Only one respawing point (Team's Base).
Both Team's bases destroyable.

If I can't make more than one objective at the time, then I would place one key structure static mesh for each team.

I really want to do this, and bring back some basic team effort based maps, but yet simple.
Where you just grab a vehicle and attack the enemy.

It's ok, never mind.

All I need to do is an Ons map without the power nodes.
So with just the core to destroy, the map can be played as a basic, base to base map, and will focus more on the battle field, and the actuall fighting, rather than focus mostly on the nodes.

I know it sounds very basic, simple and perhaps boring, but for those who played C&C renegade knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah - It's not technically possible to have both teams attacking in Assault.

There's a UT3 map called WAR-Islander which is kind of assault-like. WARfare is UT3's renamed version of Onslaught. One team controls a base with a lot of turrets and defensive emplacements, the other team controls a base with some vehicles.
It's not really assault, as the main "objective" in the map is to claim and protect the single node using the orb, but it's kind of assault-like in that way because first you have to capture the single node and then you have to fight your way through the enemy's base to hit the core.
(There's also a "side objective" to capture the air node and allow your team access to flying vehicles.)
