Where do i download your maps

hi, didnt know where to put this. anyways, i clicked the download section and it seemed to be unavailable. and i cant find anywhere else to download the damn things.

sick of recieving them, only to find that the game is usually half over.

so where do i download em? your guys's server is the only one i play on, it would be nice to have all the maps. make things easier :)

Hey Conker welcome to the boards :bom:

Once you have downloaded the map you want to stick the map in the

c:\UT2004\Maps directory

A lot are self extracting and will place them selves in the correct folder depending what other files are in the pack.

I also think some UT cache managing programs will install the maps correctly for you as well. Hope this helps.

If your getting the maps from the download section, then you need to run the file you downloaded, it is an installer that will put the maps in your ut2004 directory and any other files that the maps needs such as textures/sounds/ and meshes not embedded into the map.

Yes guys Wraith is right, the program you need is UT2004MI, MI for map installer, this app is very cool and helpfull, it will install all your maps directly to the folders need it like textures and stuff, also you can install skins and more stuff.

I dont know if was Wraith the one who has the maps back up in a cd, that really sound like a good idea too.

Vet: If you have downloaded any of the maps that we have to offer, ALL the maps are already embedded in a custom Spam Vikings Map installer, so all you do is click on the .exe file and it will install the maps to the ut2004 game, plus any other files that the map needs. Just download from here, run it by double clicking on it (.exe file) and the custom spam vikings map installer will confirm that your directory is located at the c:/ut2004/ and thats it, hit the next button and it does it's thing. You will only find this from the maps you download here, no other place I know of has this. This is to allow people not familiar with UT and map installing to be able to do it. Any map you want to remove you can do so by going to ADD/REMOVE programs and delete just the map you want to remove and it will only remove the map and whatever files that came with that map from UT2004.

I hope the origional poster is not confused. I guess not many clan members have downloaded maps from here, so they are not up to speed on how to install them. I have been maintaining the map download section for a month now, and I had converted ALL the maps to use this custom installer, so I know what the correct answer is....
