Problems with reinstall

Has anyone had any problems with a reinstall? Ive tried 3 times now, and it keeps saying that I have the incorrect CD key, but its the same game Ive had for 6 years.

after doing some quick googling looks like it could be something related to your registry.

I'm not endorsing this and havn't tried it but did run across a registry fixer for UT. I would maybe look into this program more before using but may be worth a try. http://spaz.s5.com/. Link came from this site. http://forums.gamespy.com/unreal_tourna ... /r2200919/

They were using it for a differant problem but looks like the outcome is the same . Other sites gave step by step instructions for the reg edit .

Why were you reinstalling anyway , sure your key just wasn't banned by epic ?

I finally got it to recognize my CD key after like 7 friggin times. Nope never been banned or anything. I reinstalled because i was having in game issues like my weps wouldnt fire at all. Combos would detonate literally 3 or 4 seconds after the fact, and game crashes.
My problem now is its still doing that crap after the reinstall. Cant figure out what the issue is.

Sounds like a network issue causing lag and packet loss.

Or, does it do those sorts of things if you play single player too? If so, I'd suspect a spyware or anti-v prog running some sort of "real time" scan as the culprit.

I dont think its my anti virus...Im using Microsoft Security Essentials, and that is set for manual scanning, and Spybot...neither of which is running anything. Ive been running the game with those for years. My ISP just increased the speed by a couple of megs, and Im wondering of it might be the D2 modem may need upgrading to a D3? I also noticed that maps from DW are taking longer to download than usual.

Copy of the crash report if anyone knows what to make of it. Just crashed on me again.
Now Im playing and there are no weapons in the lockers. LG fires 3 secs after clicking.

I'm starting to suspect its a problem between me and the DW server. I just played COD4 with no problems at all, so I know its not my connection, or modem.

Did you play on the DW server ? Same box.
Address: 216.86.152.29:28960

Try a trace route to the server if nothing else.

Also you said you just upgraded. From personal experience for some reason those so called upgrades are not everything they are cracked up to be and may come with consequences. They may be using different routing or something.

Well the speed upgrade is something they do every year or two with COX. Just like 2 mbs. While not totally reliable I ran Speedtest and was getting up to 20 megs down and 12 up, so it seems I have a good local connection. UT has been kind of dying down as of late maybe this is a hint :scry:

Note a couple that I didnt copy had numbers in the 3000's of ms.

Holy Crap WTF? I just played MasterBAth and the Turret was on the freakin floor. This is getting ridiculous.

IM about to take this game out to the desert and shoot it. Same shit on a UMG server...no weapons appearing in the racks.
