i guess the issue is replicating new spawns to client, so when i die new weapon actors are not reaching me. i notice that even if i don't die still have issues with monsters not appearing, or when rolling a weapon watching it disappear, and etc.
so i am no pro at tracert but above it looks like i got good ping and very small packet loss, but do have what appears to be a lot of hops for northern indiana to chicago. so what does my tracert tell you guys about my connection's contribution to the issue? my isp is mediacom however so i don't have any high hope of those smucks helping me :/
i also know as a ut developer myself that in ut when actors don't get disposed of and accumulate it causes things to disappear in any game, and in invasion with the high number of actors coming and going it's a hard thing to keep down. tracing for non disposed actors and performing code adjustments to get them disposed at right times always helps, and i know you guys try to do that, and i also know how hard it is to find the offending actors. i seem to remember 'tony's monsters' were suspected for various issues, such as seekers, but gosh i'd hate to see those critters go, whom we all Love to Hate :), but perhaps whatever code in there which causes issues can be adjusted, of course that assumes you even have his source code which you may not.
Monster mash server 2 is running verry bad
Tony didn't develop the Seekers, but you are right about several Tony monsters that cause issues.
The monsters that left a mess behind like the Vagaries are removed from the server (excluding the miniboss).

Sry this is not about Server 2 but can somebody who is admin get atlest 40 levels from my other account(it is behind 100 level) to my other account who is level 79.I am asking this cause I can not pay and tell me if you can and if I need to pay cause I dunno if I can play.
See ya!

If you're asking to transfer level from a character to another we don't do this unless you changed your cd-key (which would mean that you wouldn't be able to access any of your character created with the other cd-key).DODO wrote:Sry this is not about Server 2 but can somebody who is admin get atlest 40 levels from my other account(it is behind 100 level) to my other account who is level 79.I am asking this cause I can not pay and tell me if you can and if I need to pay cause I dunno if I can play.

You can also ask for an admin reset which would reset your stats and skills but WITHOUT losing your level. This way you can resign points and skills, but you cannot change your class. This cost 5$.
You can also ask for a name change, which also cost 5$, or just buy level (max of 20 per month, 1$ per level).
Check the donation section for more info.
I got the reflex of the fly, now catch me if you can!

Dodo...we don't transfer levels between characters (unless it's due to a new cd-key as Franky mentioned or a name change), nor between classes (example: WM levels must go onto a WM), or between servers. We do things this way in order to keep things as fair as possible for everyone who plays.

Again sry for not being on the subject.
Anyway I wanted to ask u admins something.
Can some admin reset my points but level same as u said earlier Franky.
Can u get me to get WM insted of MM please if u can reset points on my account Xan?
I would pay 5$ but in my country that is higher. My mom has pay 1700 kuna. That is 250 $ I think.
Anyway she spends 1300 on bills and rest is for food.So she isn't letting me 5 $ (42 kuna).
If u can reset them and give me WM I will reset my other account Xan Is Rapid.
It is level 81.I hope that the time I played to get it to 81 is enough or I can do something else (I crossed 2 levels a day).
Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would look at the winmt tracert i posted (see previous post) and tell me what is wrong with it. All other issues aside, i just might try to take it up with my isp (good luck with that?) and see what they would or might do. However I am not sure exactly what to say to them. I have good ping and very small packet loss(also, when i check inside game it also says very small packet loss) so I am not sure I can tell them my connection is bad. I could tell them to reduce the hops (pretty sure those are too many hops) but they might come back and say to me the connection is fast so what's the problem. Btw I also ran some regular tracerts and all three pings on each line were very good, so not sure what to make of it. I need to make sure i understand the problem before I go to them(would i be wasting my time to even try?). Thanks!!
Also, another tidbit i found out is reconnecting seems to really help a lot so i would also suspect that the high amount of net traffic being generated may be more due to client side object cache rather than server side cache, which means kind of pc on client end is also a factor in how issue manefests, and issue could have more to do with client side code than server side code. I seen that b4 also as in ut replication that kind of thing is common problem (especially in ut3, oh and ugh what a pain it was!).

Back on topic for Warhead!
First off..about the number of hops.
Depending on where you live in Illinois, that's not a totally unusual number of hops, although I'm a tiny bit puzzled as to why they would route you through Peoria (12.91.232.17) to St. Louis, MO (cr2.sl9mo.ip.att.net) then to the Chicago area. That extra hop is a little weird but probably wouldn't add that much to your ping.
Now for the packet loss part...
A couple of questions first.
1) Are you using a wireless connection?
2) Do you live in an apartment?
I'm concerned that the packet loss is actually starting fairly close to your computer. That second hop (10.19.43.1) is where the P/L starts. Do you know what device uses that IP address? Most of the time when you see a bunch of P/L returns, you need only to look at where it FIRST occurs because any routing devices downstream from the culprit will replicate the P/L errors.

wow thanks cat, very helpful and thanks for the reply.
yea the route is stupid but the ping is good. still, it seems to me i ought to complain to isp just on principle, since such a route could potentially cause issues even if ping is good. agree?
i don't live in apt but do live in a trailor park in northeast indiana.
great catch on that early packet loss. i an new to winmtr so apparently it measures the pl at each and every hop. cool. what an awesome tool this winmtr is.
so the first ip is my wired router (not wireless) and the 2nd ip (the 10. ip with the p/l) is my cable modem. so it seems to me that any packloss loss at all would indicate a failing device. I should just go ahead and replace it, right? the p/l is still small but i wouldn't think any at all is acceptable for such a device which is hard wired to and sitting right next to my pc.
i can't say much for what i think of my chances for my isp, but eliminating that p/l in my own network s/b straight forward and desirable thing to do. hey every little bit helps, thanks. pls confirm all this and if thr is anything else i should look at.

You're welcome... :)
You live in northeast Indiana? (btw..I grew up just outside of Lafayette!) Hmm..that makes your routing a little more odd! LOL! How the Internet works is a bit complex, but there are serveral entities involved in getting your data from your computer to it's final destination. It starts with your local ISP, who then contracts with other bigger ISPs who then contract with the big boys who own the backbone routers. How many hops you end up with is determined by your location and provider. Here's a decent overview article from the peeps at HowStuffWorks: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/inter ... ucture.htm Or...if you're ready to submerge yourself in protocols, algorithms and geek speak, here's a wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routing
Since you are hard wired, I agree that any devices in the chain from your computer to the demark (where your wiring ends and your provider's begins) shouldn't have packetloss. Pinpointing the issue is another matter. It could be failing hardware, a setting in the software or something as simple as a bad cable. Does your ISP own the cable modem or is it one you bought yourself? If the ISP owns it, I'd give their support folks a call and tell them about the p/l being generated. They may replace it or suggest some different settings in the software that may fix the issue.
