I would put crashing in the category of losing a map. It certainly isn't winning, or would you rather consider it a tie? Don't miss the point.
To allude to the Packers, everywhere I look, the NFL has marked that the Packers have lost that game. In what fashion doesn't matter. It's just like when the Packers lost in the playoffs last year, "We didn't lose to the Giants. We beat ourselves."

lol that's due to politics though. If you actually watched the game, the packers dominated the 2nd half, and it was bad officiating that marred it. If they had had regular officials, the packers would have won. The NFL OBVIOUSLY isn't going to change it, because that would make them look incompetent for trusting the replacement referees.

We were moving through Iguazu fine, and I think under normal circumstances without crashing, there would be very little odds that we would've lost, but an outside force out of any player's control lost us the game.

If Ant's deadset on keeping dragon riding in it, then fine, there's nothing we can do, and it sucks. But it's like if you're about to give someone a twenty dollar bill after they've mowed your lawn and at the last second you say NOPE! just kidding, you don't get paid, or, get paid only 5 dollars.

Again, like I said, just venting, ant doesn't really need to read this or put any stock into it. :P

The NFL isn't going to change it, because they aren't going to reverse an outcome of a game based upon any incompetent play calling. And the admin won't give free experience merely because players couldn't get to the end for any reason. I understand that you're just trying to play a similar a role that Aaron Rodgers did where after that game Rodgers vented to get the regular officials back. In your case it would be trying to persuade to get rid of the dragons which is fine for you to do so. Lets see how the updates turn out first, but the main point of that particular map was to implement that concept.

You're stretching that comparison a bit there. Your example would constitute as stealing, which you personally have not been stolen from off the server. Didn't you keep the exp from that map up to the point of the crash? You were never given any explanation, that under a crash circumstance, that you would be compensated for any end-game experience that you might have been given if you were to complete the map. That person mowed the lawn, spent the time and actually did the work in completing it, while you didn't actually beat the map. If you were to lose experience after completing a objective or map, then your point would be valid.
I'm also sure that some of those people playing Iguazu knew beforehand that it crashed a lot during that section, and that the queen in xeno part 2 "rapes" everyone, and yet people still decide to play it. But to know this, and still want to say that it's a waste of your time? I don't get how this is still shocking to some. Instead of complaining, why don't you try learning how to code and help fix these problems. The server is not ran like an NFL owner when trying to convince people that there isn't any problems on the "field" per se. It just takes time to fix all these things.

Anyway, besides Iguazu, the topic started with Xeno, and so you could apply there what I said about losing beforehand, because running out of time at the end of that map is actually part of the map.

and I'm not suggesting he gives us the XP either, I'd rather just have another shot from that starting point if anything, but I know it wont happen, don't worry!

Yes we keep the XP, but the 1200 win XP amounts to 400 PPH, which is pretty darn nice, and considering we completed like 90% of the by far longest map on the server and just got cut off for no reason, it sucks.

Everyone knows that the queen kills everyone and that xeno 2 is almost unbeatable, thats WHY we play it, to be among the first. We play iguazu because it's a rank 4 map, because it's somewhat tough, but also a good reason is the nice end game XP, further incentive to play.

If you're going to say "Okay, the end of iguazu will never work, you'll never get XP, it just ends with no end game XP at the dragons", what do you wanna bet it gets played like half of what it does now?


I don't suppose Ant knew what a glitch problem riding dragons would be, but if he did, why add it in :(

There doesn't seem to be a fix for the dragon riding is another thing, it's just going to be a perpetual problem, and when Divine and Utopia come back, iguazu will get far less plays I'd imagine, all just my opinions.

I didn't know about the glitch until the map became live. It works wonderfully offline and during my online test sessions on my local server.

I'm not going to bother fixing it at the moment. Instead I want to bring other maps back (such as Divine and Utopia).

Oh weird. If it's fixable, that's good, no problem, take your time, most people want divine and utopia back, didn't know it was :o yay.

To be among the first to beat Xeno is not why I play it. I'm not sure what the reasons are when people decide to play this server. I find just to be playing for exp. is a self-fulfilling but overall meaningless way to distract you from the real enjoyment of the gameplay. I imagine I'm one of the few that feels that way. What happens then, is that I don't have to say to myself, "when i get to rank __ or level __, then I will have fun." Chances are when you get that personal goal of reaching somewhere, you're going to have a hard time figuring out what next if you based your enjoyment of the game off of mere experience points. Hence the reason certain high level players don't like playing maps that give little or to no exp. Building your character is fun, but just getting experience itself shouldn't be anyone's outlying factor whether they enjoy something or not. Kind of like life, for some people, making money and more money is their main purpose in life.

I do agree Xeno is a very fun map, and comparative to other maps doesn't give great XP, but it IS one, and maybe the ONLY one, where you really don't even think about XP the whole match(at least I don't), it's really great, just too bad the load time is so long and sometimes crashes (tbh I think they should lop off the first outside part of the map, have the map just start where the shock rifle etc with the shield and ammo stuff there, could save a little bit of space and make it load a little faster maybe)


more maps like xeno would be fantastic, and the fact of the matter is, many players DO find themselves saying "itll start being fun at rank 2, or rank 3" since their characters aren't great until then. Supports can be a great help to the team at just rank 2, but for a Paladin to really make an impact, they GOTTA be rank 3, even if you did the full 300 health on rank 2, your 10% damage helps NO ONE and medkits don't even heal past base health.

Trust me. I get frustrated at times, but there is no warranty in winning. Only in death.

However, if you feel you need someone to talk to, like when: you feel like you can't do it alone, you feel you've lost control of your [gaming] life, or if you worry all the time and can't seem to find the answers, then DW is here for you. Well, at least maybe Karma Kat is.

and that proves the point, how pathetic is it that the happiest thing about a map is that it didnt glitch and cause you to crash, multiple people more happy about the dumb thing actually working for once than they are about winning it, that's sad :/
