I wouldn't support a full server reset unless it were unanimous, and since that won't happen (how could we possibly know?) that doesn't seem likely. Still, maybe I will put some more serious thought into what can be done...

Aye, who knows, maybe some day everyone agrees haha. And if not, I can always hire a 10 or 20 man server just for the new version to be tested and played. anyways we'll see:)

Bumping this thread.
The main issue I see about Monster Mash was that sometimes it gets downright repetitive and has really broken mechanics. Running around holding down Mouse 1 with a flak cannon of energy and globe + triple being one of them.
I'd think the best way to fix Monster Mash is to first buff all the enchantments that are considered "useless" like earth and lucky, and then make every class unique in their own way, like ME. For example, maybe you could give WM a dual wield artifact, give medic the globe as they're supposed to be the defensive class, and perhaps let AMs do adrenaline-enhanced/elemental shots where they spend adrenaline to do stuff like extra damage, freeze, poison, ect. but not before giving them the nerfhammer first, as they badly need it.
As for resetting levels, I'd be fine with that if it means a whole new bunch of skills to play with. But it might agitate some people. Another option could be merging the two servers together, but I think that would only be good as a last resort.
Another possible solution I can think of is perhaps adding a shop that opens up for one minute in between waves. At the shop, you can trade points from your score for weapon enchantments like energy or piercing and artifacts like the triple damage or lightning rod, but also removing AM's max modifier, and replacing it with an unbrekable EWC.

Love those ideas! This is what I intended to tell when i made this topic. Monster Mash is fun as it is (for me), But it would be so much better to see things changed after all these years of the same thing. However the changes should not make the game too easy.@nt wrote:Bumping this thread.

Not only the classes and magic weapons need an update, but fighting another set of monsters would help a lot too. We have the standard waveset, the dinotopia waveset (Which is less popular but still fun) but thats it. I would love to fight some Xenomorph or anything else for that matter, I think the internet still has enough Animations of monsters in stock to fabricate a new waveset to add to the existing 2, and if not, we can always use monsters from the Evolution server.
The thing is, while we are excited about changes, many others are not. So we either need to convince everyone that change is good, or start another server for the changed DWrpg. To be honest, I like this game so much that would pay for that hahaha:P I don't care if my levels get reset, after all, getting those levels adds fun to the game, and with new skills to choose from, everything feels fresh again.
as long as the changes don't reset the gametracker scoreboard, I am fine with whatever happens, as i am guilty of being a score whore sometimes:P

I remember how in Killing Floor, which is a game that plays quite similar to Monster Mash, there were only about 7 types of monsters, but each one was just so unique; there was one where if you do a certain amount of damage to him in a certain time frame, he "rages" and runs faster while doing more damage if he hits you.
It would be really cool to see some of the monsters from ME, particularly the ones from doom implemented into MM. Or we make waves randomly alternate between dinotopia and the standard ones, or perhaps add more then just one miniboss. (I'd definitely shit my pants if I saw a giant deemer seeker that spawns wailords with its shots.)
I think DW did a really good job implementing classes, and balancing skills with ME, and using them as a guideline to update MM would be great, but making MM a copypasta of ME would sap the creativity out of the two servers. We can throw all the ideas in the world, but in the end, DW makes the final call.

Haha indeed, We have different servers for a reason, things would get boring pretty quickly if all servers were alike.
However a lot of the monsters used in ME are custom DW, so seeing some of them in MM is not a bad thing. I'm not sure about the RPG part of ME, in my opinion it would not fit the MM feel as it is now. But then again, i did not play on ME very often so I don't know a lot about it.
We do have a few monsters with abilities that activate after a certain time or when killed (fury titan, fire slith) but there are many more possibilities which would fit in MM.
The deemer seeker sounds even scarier then a luci with an instagib shockrifle. Spawning wailors with it's shot haha, making things harder is fun, but we do want to have a chance at winning though xD
The classes in MM are a bit unbalanced, Weapon Masters overpower the rest in most maps, it is in my opinion the most fun class since berserking while relying on vampirism and triple, without using globe gives quite a kick. dodging rocks is so much more fun when you know any hit will end your zerking. adrenwhores are doomed to using the same tactic over and over again with about the same results every map. But i don't have anything to say about medic, the class seems to be the most balanced of the 3, also it is a very fun class to play. The only problem is that you really only use a medic gun, which of coarse gets boring after about 100 matches:P
Anyways, in the end it all depends on what DW wants to do with this server, and how the players will react to the change. The past has taught us that people do not seem to like change very much.
