Making up a thread for myself so I can keep track of some things and let you guys know the state of this project so far.
I'm pretty close to being able to release a beta version of this pack -- All of the non-code assets (static meshes, textures, animations) are finalized. A number of vehicles still have issues that need to be resolved but fortunately updating a .u file is only a few kilobytes in size. That means once the pack is downloaded no other significant downloads will be needed in order to update the vehicles or weapons.
Total download size as of right now is going to be about 15 MB.

While that's possible it's unlikely I'm going to make some significant changes to the graphics, just too much for too little at this point. The EONS version of the Bio is already more effective against vehicles. It has improved range and the way the Bioglobs are dispersed (either pattern) means that, unlike the normal "charged up" shot of the biorifle, if you hit most of the biogoo is likely to stick (rather than splattering off).DW_Hornet wrote:Intresting indeed. How bout lets change the name from bio rifle to acid rifle. Maybe change the shader also. Maybe make it a bit more effective against vehicles that way.
I'm trying to be somewhat conservative with the changes first off. Using these things against bots doesn't really give you a good idea of what performance in a real world situation will be like. If the new Biorifle doesn't perform as well as I think it ought to then I'll probably tweak it up a bit. I'm pretty much of the opinion that if you're squaring off against an enemy at close range the Bio should be competitive with the Flak and even better against vehicles.
