Interesting.. I always thought that rally stuff was offroad and hence truck based. I wouldn't really want to take something low offroad into the hills and dirt.

I figured you were doing track racing, either oval or S.

Its not totaly off road as that would rip the car apart but the track is usualy mud or dirt and a lot rougher than your usual f1 track etc.

Rally rules mean its a lot more fun to watch as its not just making a car that will win a race the car must be able to drive back to base from where ever the rally is for each event and then drive to the next rally which could be hours away.

So racing isnt just about winning its about doing it in the fastest time possible without destroying the car. If you dont make it back to base you get penalised. So often you see the teams driving cars 40 miles with a flat tire crawling along so they dont lose points.

Neat car. I think that may be the Supra platform here stateside but im not realy sure.

we have that body style here in north america, but for the gt4 engine i dont think so. that body is the 6th generation celica body. i was interested in getting that body but then i got the 7th gen celica. which is nothing near the gt4. haha. and the supra is its own class. that is my dream car.

I may end up getting a free 1986 Supra from my boss. The main issue with it is that the motor may need to be replaced. I am not sure that either of us are willing to put that type of coin into it.

My 2001 Accord EX/V6 would probably trounce it from a performance and comfort perspective.

But, it does have a targa top.. :cheers:

No supra is a different breed of car its a roadster rear wheel drive etc... the celica is a through and through rally car.

not all supra's are that good the ones that got the range its amazing following are the ones with the 2jz-gte block !

I just want a car at this point in life. Nice car though, Kae.
