Yes there is the problem of some servers putting up content not tested for the PS3.
But thats up to them im sure DW wouldnt do that as with all maps here they seem to be pretty well tested b4 being put up and if there are problems, it gets sorted or taken down pretty quickly.
I dont think there will be any more problems getting stuff to work for the ps3 than there is for the PC ok you may have to go through the process twice maby making 2 copies of a map optimising each one for the individual machine but thats the price you pay for having two systems.
If cross platform is put in there, then id say getting a map to work on both will be hard work but thats price you pay right ?
If having to dull maps down to let ps3 players play detracts too much from the game play for PC users I dare say a lot of servers just wont do it, but only time will tell.
PC / PS3 cross-platform play is in... (maybe)

And then, we really still not have talked about custom content, which looks like you are gonig to have to download to a memory card and move over to the PS3. And it may or may not have been tested on a PS3 by the modder/mapper.
How much "popular" covers is still up in the air.It follows news from E3 in July that Unreal Tournament 3 will be console-exclusive to PS3 this year, and will let you enjoy popular PC mods from the PlayStation Network.
If you watch the videos from E3, they talk about moving custom content over on a memory stick.
Regardless, they seem to be changing things day by day still. So, it is pointless to keep going on about it.
If you want to play generic servers against other PS3 players, than get a PS3. You can use a keyboard and mouse, or you can use a controller. The last article you quoted does not metion anything about PCs. All it is talking about is PS3 controllers vs. PS3 k/m.
If you want to play custom content and have the least issues with compatibility, etc. you are still purchasing a PC. They have said repeatedly, that the game will run on medium settings on a two year old machine.
Really, we are just going to have to wait until Nov to find out everything because they keep changing everything.
Right now there is a debate of wheather you can carry the orb in a vehicle or not and if so, what kind of vehicle. EPIC is still deciding on what they want to do. Regardless, because they don't let people preplay it, people will exploit stuff in a way that EIPC had never thought of and the game will go on...
Personally, I couldn't care less if PC and PS3 are allowed on the same servers as long as it does not dumb down or slow down my experience.

As of 3:42AM today, it looks like cross platform play (console and PC) is undecided.
Mark Rein:
We have not decided if we're going to support cross platform play in UT3 between PC and PS3 yet. We will have it between PC, Mac and Linux however.
