wiyhout that the case is just a case.
lol
Lets see do i go with a 2.2 ghz AMD processor or a 1.8 ghz dual core amd processor for which no software has been written to take advantage of the second core?
Or do i go with a 3.8 Ghz 64 bit with a 2m L2 cache or poissibally a 64 bit dual core 3.2 ghz w2mb L2 both of which have hyperthreading for mutiple data streams appearing as up to 4 processors to the os. and oh yess full compatibility.
or perhaps Dual core hyperthreaded XEONs at 3.4 GHz and an L2 of 2mb.
Should i also think about the fact that with a smaller NM line that the intel chips run cooler. or the fact that an amd rep told me the intel chips run games faster and I should think of the AMDs for servers instead of gaming units. But perhaps having worked for AMD only for several years He didnt know anything about the chips. Maybe he also doesnt remember when the makers of Doom reccomended aganst using amd because AMD only emulates Intel code slowing down processes? Could this be why shortly after that AMD sought to confuse people by changing to a numbering scheme that hid the true processor speed?
ITs true that intel made a major marketing error by not making a 64 bit transitional chip sooner, relying on the Iantium to carry thier 64 bit banner as it had for a few years. But they have them now. If they can put more transistors on a die using a smaller NM process, running them faster, cooler and with more compatibility, I think you should look at using them dont you?
Of course for those that insist on using the poor sister amd because of what i believe is deceptive business practices, I will make them available as an option. This option however will not have as good a guarantee because I cant offer as reliable a unit as a full intel solution. Because of this it will also not have our companys name on it. Caviat Emptor!
It is good that amd exists to keep intel on its toes. Too bad motorola is going out of the game. I was hopeing Ibm was going to move thier processors to pcs befoire they sold out the PC business and this country to the chineese. :glasses4: :bom:
Defiant what do you think of these power supplies?
HP 485D 485Watts 20+4 Pin Power Supply w/Dual 8mm Fan + PCI-E Adapter
Award P4 450W 20+4Pin Dual Fans ATX Power Supply OEM (Red Color)
AcePower 580UB BTX 580Watts Total Power w/Dual 80mm Blue LED
AGI-U430-120E 430W(peak)/400W(continue) 20+4pin, PCIE-6pin 120mm Fan
the ace power is the most expensive the HP the least but ive never used them before
