Yeah, those are the typical names. And I am not sure of the reasoning for all three of them. I am pretty sure I have three as well.

You could probably go google for someone smarter than me to tell you how much you are saving. I am going to guess maybe $10/year.

You would probably save more by turning it off when you are not using it. ;)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I usually put my computer in standby to STR (about 12 watts) during the day when I may come back to it, and turn it off completely for longer periods of time.

Toxic is right though (as always). The info on these three I have read over the past hour say they f with overclocking and should be disabled.

I am going to disable them and see what happens...

I changed my BIOS setting to this:

1. CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) = Disabled
2. CPU Thermal Monitor 2 (TM2) = Enabled
3. CPU EIST Function = Disabled

It did the trick. CPU-z now shows the core and multiplier steady at stock speeds.
