If it came down to a vote from the whole community, I'm sure it would be anonymous.

Why not just add a poll to a post and then list the top active players for the month 25-50 players and let the entire community select someone from the poll. No one has to make a post, send an email or make themselves known they just select the player that they think should be rewarded as player of the month. The only draw back to doing this would be how to prevent someone from voting more than 1 time.

Now, by having the 'community' vote, that'd be each person being logged in to vote, wouldn't it? If so, couldn't you add something that tracks who voted and only allows 1 vote per poll period per profile?

Only forseeable problem I can think of is massed profiles to flood the poll...

I think it's a real cool idea- but how would people be nominated? Would it be strictly on active playing, not being a spammer, high scores (I know that one was thrown out already)... What exactly would someone be nominated for? Considering there are 3 classes, wouldn't it be fair to have three different 'player of the month' classes? Best WM, AM, MM/Healer? (just reiterating D2's idea.. )

i tink it wud be 2 hard to determine what class each potm were, we wud have a auction like.. hey u 3.. what class are u, ok ur ominated for best AM of the month, i tink maybe like the judge thing wud make it easier, but the way were talking of doing it is like.. too hard 2 determine the classes

hey super you could always look at the little adornment above the head of the player, you might find a clue there.

This will start when a few of the kinks in the RPG are ironed out, theres still a little work being done on it... No timeframe for when it will happen. I was also thinking of awarding it to mappers who actually contribute their talent and time creating something new for players. Without new maps, things would get boring fast. [D2]Boss certainly has set the bar high in creativity and imagination as well as making it look nice and overall fun to play... Brainpan is another player worthy of praise, and Reload has some nice concepts too....
