Doh , I don't use the weight cartridge at all, it's not even installed empty.

I have three resolutions set 2,000dpi, 800dpi and 400dpi. For gaming, I mostly use the 800dpi, sometimes switching to the 2,000 depending on the situation.
My mouse pad is/was made by a company called Innovative Technologies...alas, I think they have gone out of business. It's a dark burgundy (hearly brown) color with a grid (looks like graph paper) and a nice slick surface. That, combined with the teflon feet of the mouse makes for smooth gliding.
