Well in my System folder I have Default.ini, DefUnrealed.ini, and DefUser.ini =D

Yes those are there, and can be used if you totally fubar a .ini file (instead of reinstalling). But Karma's advice is still good, as chances are, someone has already made numerous changes that already work and they are happy with (either through editing their .ini or through the game settings menus). So if you have a saved copy from right before the current edit, none of those previous changes will be lost. If you use a default file you're back at the beginning, and have to redo all the changes you've ever made, not just figure out how you screwed the last one up.

I have many personal setting in my ini files. I prefer not to loose everything.
Therefore I always try to remember to backup my files.
