Hmmm. Thats what i was trying to do but still i see no texture on the stairs =(
I even tried removing the stairs and putting some new ones in but still no texture... slightly strange.

so after getting past the getting around part.
on a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is it?

When you clicked on the button to create it, did you click the Add button or Subtract button? You should add it to the space where you had subracted the area out from.

FIrst off i did make the mistake of trying to subtract it, but i realised that almost straight away. Once correcting that mistake i still dont get any texture. ANd yeah getting round is a little easier now that I have spent a little more time on it. Still have soem teething problems but not to fear i have plenty of free time at work to learn.
