The latest build of Blender 2.5 was made available at graphicall.org late last night with some minor bug fixes here and there and more tools written in Python. You can find it at the following link:

Almost ready guys and gals or at least the Beta 0 is almost ready. Here is the newest workable build version.
Blender 2.5
Also their is a new feature that may be added to create the illusion of atmospheric scattering. Check out the video, it looks awesome. Oh, and don't forget Povray for subsurface scattering, it will be added as well.

And all whom have already used Blender 2.4x already know it has the best fluid simulation so I wont bother with it.

Blenders project Durion has release the official working name of the short movie, it will be called sintel. It will be done fully in Blender 2.5 as the Betas are being testing. At the official release of Sintel, Blender will also release the final version of Blender 2.5. To see some more videos and art work related to Sintel, please see the link below:
