According to this article, this physics card is really great with cell factor. Steep hardware requirements for smooth gameplay. A 7800GTX at 1280X1024 resoltion goes down to 13FPS! Ack! I'll never be able to run it at 1920X1200.
Excerp from the article:
CellFactor is totally different story. It really looks breathtaking. It takes ages to load on 4000+ with 1GB of memory and Geforce 7800 GTX times two in SLI. Even when it loads you need to play it for a minute or so to pre-cache everything and then it goes rather smoothly. To be honest we expected more than average of 30 frames per second but I can say that the game felt really playable at all times.
We like the game. You can move an object and blow suff up and shoot almost anything on the scene. You can create massive explosions with hundreds of pipes and barrels flying around. You can even kill your opponent with a barrel or a pipe that you can send flying with your left hand force. It's fun and you can even play it online with all the happy people that have PhysX card. The bad thing is that with a single 7800 GTX card it can drop down to 13 frames per second and that is really low for 1280x1024 resolution. It is a demo so it has to be better when the final version comes out. You won't be able to play it without PhysX card. It looks and feels good but it definitely could use some performance polishing.

I can't believe people are actually buying this already. I would have to be VERY convinced to get it within its first year or two of release, but to buy it when NO games are out that support it is just....dumb. Especially at 300 dollars.
Oh well, just the perspective of a poor college kid, lol.

i have to agree with Namu cause even though they do extensive testing you cant work out all the bugs till its put into a commercial enviroment. Why do you think windows comes out with service packs, even after beta testing you cant know all vunralbilties until the hackers get hold of it. Plus price will drop when competitors are able to get their hands on the technology, which is enevitable.
Sorry no high school or college doesnt make for a good speller so i hope this is readable, seeing as how i used some big words there, LOL

I have a bad feeling that we're all going to have to get something like this in a year or so. 2K7 is going to support it, and I bet a good portion of the "pretty" in the 2k7 demos were because of this card.
My guess is that there will be two modes. The pretty, and not so pretty. The not so pretty will probably look and feel much like 2k4 does. To unlock the pretty, you'll need this card.
I'm really hoping NVidia and ATI come up with something because at least it will be part of the video card itself, and not an add on. But right now, they have no answer. Maybe 6+ months will be enough to come up with one.

I think toxic may be right about UT2k7 not being as pretty without the physix card, hence why im going to buy one.
It may not work perfectly and only work on a few games but heck theres a lot of worse stuff i can spend my money on.
And as the cards were mentioned before does any one have any views on the nvidia asus 7800 gt ???

I will wait until ut2007 comes out and get them both within the same timeframe. So while Cellfactor will require the physx card, and UT won't, will the people with and without be able to play together on-line? Will there be a need for one server for physics card and the other for non-physics card systems?
I dont think they will seperate the servers for physx and non physx users that would split the community too much hopefuly it will just be an option that you turn on and off in the settings menu.
Also i noticed that asus have released a physx card looks just like the ageia one....
