So - What sort of situations would we want a "Death Wave" to trigger on?

Randomly? Day or Time of Day?

Would we want it on a specific map?

Or maybe have some way of triggering it from within the map perhaps (e.g. Requires X people to stand on X pedestals for so long to trigger)

If you managed to edit Invasion so that maps can call specific rosters for a wave or two, then that will be outstanding! I'll have to redo several maps if you are successful.

Honestly I would not want this wave a daily bases. That kind of brutality would defiantly overwhelm any one. And it wouldn't be a challenge any more. Even small maps might be out of the question as it would turn into a slaughterhouse.

If any thing a map like DW-TicTacToe, Past Master, Choco Dome of Doom. Something which will give people a fighting chance. And even come together as team.

Trigger wise. I'd say group dissension will be best. So others can base their options on the matter. But as for my opinion, maybe every Friday and Saturday when the servers are more active. The Death Wave would activate when both high and low levels are around. Over 10 players at least. A early warning that will give those time to prepare. Something like a 30 second count down to Death Wave. 10 seconds is too short.

Edit: Forgot something. :O

Some triggers could be:
  • Frequently played map
  • Map is never lost
  • Easy to hide
  • Overwhelmingly fast and large amounts of adren camping spawns
It's less desirable to have a death wave on a map which is already challenging. :sworried:

Seekers + raptors + volcanic sliths + arctic sliths + titans + rainbow queens... :sworried: How the heck did you even come up with this idea without fainting??

Personally, I'd like to see Franky or Mr.Dick tackle this set up, but it'll just instantly own most players and make the monster level 200+ in a matter of seconds. A lot of low levels already complain about the difficulty to safespot on Hypothermia Wave 15 with Mech Queens, Green Titans, and Seekers.

We should definitely restrict this "death wave" of yours only to times when a challenge is really needed.

My suggestion is to make a trigger that activates only if more than 5 level 250+ players are on and only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays where MM is most active.

It sounds like a pretty nice thing for high levels like Franky, Dick, Honigh, Azmodan, and other high leveled players, but we should always remember that the majority of MM players are low levels and can't exactly survive level 2398561092478051293587+ monsters.
