Good to hear that it's working. BCVisin and I should be connected most of the time now, so if you want to give it a test, have at it.

Hey Bryan, thanks for setting that up.

It was my intent to set up a TS server for you guys once the Dallas server was up and running. If you can maintain that server and it works well, that's great. Otherwise I will start one for you (once I get the Dallas server running).

We should be able to keep this server up and running. Do you guys (as in the DW clan) use TS or Vent? I was suprised to see the the free version of Vent only allowed for 8 user connections at a time. Anything beyond that, and you have to pay. Was UT99_VET paying for the SVA Vent server? The TS server is awesome, I think it allows like 1000 connections at a time. Seems to have a lot more features than Vent too. Anyway, thanks for the offer.

We evaluted TS, but most came to the conclusion that vent had better voice quality so we stuck with it. Yes we played with the 30 codecs.

Many thanks Bryan, for setting up the TS server. You and Blake jumped right into the fray and got something going in record time. Nice Job!!!!

However, I have to agree with Hornet about the audio quality on Vent. From my end last night it was just barely okay. And no, I'm not going deaf! ;) I used to mix audio for live television, so I'm not just blowin' smoke out my ears! :drunken:

I think that part of the problem is due to the CELP Codec. It compresses the hell out of the audo (that's why you can get so many connections) at the cost of clarity, tone and dynamic range (not to mention adding hiss). With Vent I could easily id folks, but last night had a hard time distinguishing Ajaxx, Snaggle and Zeus. Would it be possible to try some of the other Codecs?

Also...just a couple of curious questions: What kind of connection to the net does the server that's running TS have? And where's it live? Out in CA with you or elsewhere?
