I'm not saying I particulary like mines, just that they're part of the games. And I wasn't here when the unplayable out of the box ONS maps were here, and if the raptors and cicadas are still overpowered then my definition of 'power' is kinda high...
I used to absolutely despise them, but now that I know how to properly use them in ONS comp they are quite useful.
I agree with Bean, Zax, and Urtho. On large maps or vehicle heavy maps yes, on the rest either eliminate or lower the round count. For example, 6 mines is an adequate amount to create a mine manta or defend an area - I cannot see a need for more than that in the "infantry" heavy maps.

- Who says laying a Spider mine does not require of Skill - I have killed myself alot with them while just layin 'em - 32 players with 10 mines each might become 'anoying' for players and machines -

I love killing people doing that, cuz they're usually on a killing spree. I also like doing that when we got 'em down to the core, cuz it racks up a bunch of points very fast.Yes location is usually a good question. Look at dreamus2, then try to find apex.

A fully loaded Spider Manta rapes a tank and is just downright evil. Really my favorite use for mines. Also like to cruise a fully loaded Spider Manta over ground troops with and see who dies . Sure, it's not as effective as crushing them, but it's a helluva alot funnier.
They're good for covering your ass if you're :snipe:. They're good in hidden/surprising spots.
Other than that, there's nothing weaker than seeing someone running at you with the "Mine Layer blazing". I always thought they were called Parasite mines because they suck the skill from those who rely on them.

If they dont cause to much lag and there not being exploited (think that was patched out) there helpful. I use them to tell me if there is someone in an area I planted say a spawn node etc.
I do also feel they fool with aim bots aimming even though I know there no cheaters here at all.
